You gotta hand it to NASCAR. The sponsors have great commercials featuring the drivers.

He has as good a shot as anyone tonight... I think they will have at least one green/white/checkers run at the finish if the rain holds off.

Montoya, GOOD LORD...seriously...

I'm not sure if they can go back to racing, that burning diesel fuel could probably eff that track up beyond a quick repair.. WOW...

WTF? was JPM doing? How did that happen?

I hope this doesn't fuck up the racetrack,it would be a shame for the race to end like this.

That crash and blaze are just incredible. I agree the race is over. Between damage to the track from the fire and the danger of so much fuel residue on the pavement, it's hard to see how they'll get green again. Dave Blaney, who didn't pit, would be your unlikely winner if that comes to pass.

That may be the craziest thing I have seen happen at a race.

I don't think they can finish..about 10 years ago a gas tanker truck hit a bridge embankment here in Hickory and burned up and it ate the entire road away...this was of course smaller than that but that is just fuel that just burned for a good 5-10 min constantly on that section of track...this is seriously the craziest thing I've ever seen..

Just showed a section of the track...they MIGHT can restart, but I'm banking on them being red flagged at least an hour and there could be rain popping up..would be kind of cool to see Dave Blaney pull off a win for TBR..

I hope they get this restarted... my fantasy guys are not doing too well, and I took Danica, so that pick crapped out.

Jeff Hammond is everywhere tonight, even up in the spotters stand... I like his new role.

I can't believe Brad K. took his phone in the car with him.

There's one hole I think...they may can get back to racing..they can patch any low spots, they've done it before..if the rain stays away, they'll finish this thing...I just can't believe that fire didn't melt that asphalt though..

That track has a huge gash in it - I seriously doubt if they restart the race.

they are all doing it now I think. During practice the other week Biffle drove like half a lap holding his phone at the window net filming and then tweeted the video..lol..

I am glad that track worker is ok... that was a pretty big lick on his trailer and truck.

Dave Blaney is a good guy, but I think they can fix this and they will restart it.

they can patch a gash pretty easily. The only problem will be if the heat affected the stability of the asphalt and if it will start to crumble once they go over it..the holes and gashes are no problem to fix, bondo will fix that..
