A second source says the trade for Kubina  is for a 2nd round pick & a 5th round pick.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded defenceman Pavel Kubina to the Philadelphia Flyers for second and fifth-round draft picks, according to Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos.

Kubina has three goals and eight assists in 52 games this season.

He is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Here's the latest version of the Kubina trade. I believe this one is official.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded defenceman Pavel Kubina to the Philadelphia Flyers for left winger Jon Kalinski and a second and fourth-round draft pick.

The second round pick is a conditional pick that the Flyers acquired in the Kris Versteeg trade.  The Florida Panthers have the option to give either their 2012 or 2013 pick. The fourth round pick is for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

A steady two-way presence on the back-end, Kubina has played with the Lightning (twice), Toronto Maple Leafs and Atlanta Thrashers throughout his career.

Named to the NHL All-Star Game in 2003-04, Kubina would win the Stanley Cup with the Lightning that same season.

Kubina is in the final year of a two-year contract he signed with the Lightning in 2010 with an annual average value of $3.85 million. He will become an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Kubina was held off the ice this week by the Lightning while they tried to deal him. Tampa GM Steve Yzerman asked him for a list of five teams that Kubina would allow a trade to, as per the defenceman's no-trade clause.

The addition of Kubina further fills the void on defence that the Flyers have felt since Chris Pronger suffered his season ending concussion.  On Thursday, the team acquired Swedish defenceman Nicklas Grossman from the Dallas Stars for a 2012 second-round pick and a 2013 third-round pick.

I have a feeling that the Flyers aren't done. Matt Carle is a Free Agent after this year, and JVR has been very disappointing also. Rumor has it that the Flyers might bring in Nabokov from the Islanders to push Bryz.

As a Flyers fan, I would love to see them bring in Nabokov. Bryz just hasn't been good this year no matter how you look at it

However, I would not make a trade and mortgage the future. If they don't win the cup this year, fine. They still have Kreider and Bourque in the minors.

Trust me - Ray Bourque has more trade value right now than Ryan Bourque does. Kreider is your top prospect and apparently Boston made a couple of offers to the Rangers for him last year.

The Flyers and Avs are talking about a deal with either Matt Duchene or Eric Johnson coming to Philly. J.S. Giguere is available also.

Nashville is interested in JVR. Possible JVR for Ryan Ellis deal on the table.

Nabby and the Islanders are starting to talk about a contract extention. I don't see Him getting moved. I could see a Kyle Okposo getting moved to bring in a Younger Goalie prospect.

Colorado trades D-Man Kyle Quincey to Tampa for Foward Steve Downie. Shocked to see Downie moved by Tampa.  Then Tampa flips Quincey to Detroit for a 1st Round pick.

Who would Philly be trading for Colorado's franchise player (Duchene)?

A Package involving JVR, Carle, Bob & 1st round pick. Apparently the Flyers have been asking about Duchene for a year or so and talks having beeen getting more serious. Giguere would have to come back with Bob was traded. I don't see it happening Myself, but apparently there is alot of interest by the Avs in JVR.

Terrible trade for Colorado, JVR is nowhere near the player Duchene is, Carl/Bobrovsky/the 1st aren't much compensation either.

Tampa now has 2 1st round picks & 3 2nd round picks in this year's  draft
