Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, unless it got Bill Bilicheck.

Believe it or not these things do happen, I remember many years ago at Cedar Point there used to be a "Jungle Larrys Safari" trail and a tiglon (half tiger, half lion) sprayed a stream of piss that got my Aunt Sharon.

I think it's funny as hell that he gets so much hate, when he's one of the nicest, most fan-friendly guys in the league.

:D

You may well be right.  He might well be one of the coolest guys in the NFL.  I don't know him so I wouldn't know.  I do know that I don't care one iota for the persona he puts forth.

You mean the one where he just has fun in life and doesn't take everything so seriously?  The one that is trouble free, no drugs?

The one that couldn't learn the Patriots' playbook?

So that warrants people hating him and trash talking him as if he fucked their girlfriends?  :D

Nope.  I think Ochocinco is relatively harmless.  I wouldn't want my kid emulating him necessarily, but there are dozens of worse guys in the sports world.

I have never liked players that care more about garnering attention for themselves than whether their team wins or loses.  Acting like a petulent child to try and force his way out of Cincy did him no favors in my eyes.  I don't begrudge guys wanting to make the most money that they can as their ability to earn crazy money is finite.  I do have a problem with players like Chad who sign big deals then start showing their ass two years later because other players are now making more than he is.

The thing is I do respect his ability.  I appreciate the fact that out of the seven receivers chosen before him only Reggie Wayne has arguably been better than him.  I also appreciate how he played an entire season with a torn labrum.

At first I found him to be entertaining with his antics.  It is just at one point he backed that with stellar play.  Even when he was not playing well he still tried to get all eyes on him.  It was less about his ability and more about his marketability.  That rankles me.  He seems to be a caricature of the once great player he was.
