Make the First Round selection for your favorite team.

With the 23rd Selection of the 2008 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select..

Gosder Cherilus - OT Boston College

That is my prediction, but it does not meant that I am totally happy with it.

I would rather see Quentin Groves DE Auburn selected by the Steelers.

Don't you need a guard more than a tackle with Faneca leaving?

I can see the Steelers taking Shawn Crable in the second round.  They like the UM LB's.

They are looking right now to have Kemoeatu move in to start for Faneca.

They also resigned Max Starks, so this may free up right tackle right tackle Willie Colon to move inside to the guard position if Kemoeatu does not cut it.

This pick is really up in the air for the Steelers. Usually you get a good feel for who the Steelers have their sight on, bu tthis year, the odds on favorite, but it could be a defensive end, a wide receiver or even a running back.  The local rumor has it that they really like Jonathon Stewart out of Oregon.

The Steelers will almost certainly draft an O lineman, the Yinzers will bitch about how they should have picked someone else, and the pick will end up becoming a part of the line for the next 5-6 seasons at least.

That's how most Steeler picks end up.

I have personally never seen Stewart run, but have heard nothing but great things from everyone about him. Niever a bad word, other than his injury right tnow.
Kind of reminds one of Emmit Smith........

I wouldn' think it is as much of a certainty like it has been in past years.  I could definitely see them beginning ot rebuild the defensive line.

I haven't a clue who the Eagles are picking at #19. They rarely show their hand. Probably just draft an offensive linemen like they always do. Unexciting to the fans as we are always clamouring for a wide-out ever since TO left town.

Many have the Eagles selecting Phillip Merling DE Clemson.

A couple are picking Comartie to be selected by the Eagles.

Defense seems to be the common theme.

As a Vikings fan  (yeah I know I grew up outside of Pittsburgh during teh Steelers glory years) we traded our first and 2 thirds for Jared Allen.  A good move as we get a proven Pro Bowl star who is still young and resigned him for 6 years.  Now in round 2 if we can get a QB maybe Joe Flacco from Deleware.

The Carolina Panthers will select an OL I understand.

I have two predictions...

Jake Long will go #1 to the Dolphins.

The Lions pick will suck ass and be off the team in 3 years.  They'll probably take a WR with drug, injury, and weight problems.   They usually get a guy with one or two of those problems.  This year they'll get the trifecta.
