When the A's beat the Rangers last night, they set a major league record.

From Elias: Travis Blackley earned the win for the Athletics in their win over the Rangers. It was Oakland's 53rd win by a rookie pitcher, the most in a season for any team in major-league history.

Blackley has been around. He sucked as a Giant. He was waived twice by them. He was also waived by the A's a few years ago. The A's throwing out that many pitchers was out of necessity. Suspension and injuries forced them to pitch rookies.

LOL at Josh Hamilton for butchering a routine flyball. Getting chewed out by Washnigton. His days in Texas might be over.
