If they don't get the division, I want the wildcard game to be Pirates vs Braves, in Atlanta. The dark times of Pirate fandom began there, it would be almost movie-like for it to end there .
That would be a feel good story for MLB.  You know MLB would hype the shit out of it as well.

Im for that too because

1.  Atlanta is closer to me than Pittsburgh

2.  I know it won't sell out

Yep, I think it is about that time of the season:

I am afraid the collapse is starting- they can't hit or pitch, getting shutout alot and blown out in games.  McCutcheon  1 homerun since July 17, Pedro Alvarez 0 homeruns since JUly22, McKenry was hot but he cooled off, Jones was hot and he cooled off, Walker is up and down - Marte is consistent and Snider is but only hitting singles.  McDonald can't find the strike zone or if he does he gives up big innings.  Wandy Rodriguez hasn't shown much sinc ehis arrival, Burnett and Bedard have been oK but even Butrnett had a bad game this weekend and gave up a ton of runs.  Bullpen isn't shutdown either.  I may be paranoid but Its looking like last August again.

As a Reds fan, I'm surprised they have kept it going without Votto.

Man it's a shame about Pittsburgh. I really thought they had a shot, but like Grog pointed out, it's like they are tired and need a week off

Just start wishing for the OLC Archives to show up. That way, August will never come.

I may be Pollyanna here, but I think people are getting too worked up about their slump since it's really the first one they've had all year. Hell of a time for it, no doubt, but I think they've only lost like 3 in a row before now as their biggest losing streak.

There's a lot of games coming up against the Astros and Cubs that should help balance out this stretch of bad games.

Also, what was up with that bullshit with Kemp in today's game? It's stupid to argue balls and strikes (you'll never win and you just piss off the ump), but it seemed like the ump was being a thin skinned little bitch by tossing a guy who was in the dugout and then tossing the starting pitcher as he was leaving the field after being pulled. I'm sure they were cussing at him, but this is the same above the law bullshit umps pull all the time.

You may be right, but last year this is how the collapse started as well.  Many simp,ly do not want to revisit that.

The thing about Kemp is that he kept chirping fromt he dugout.  From what I read, it seems he had been chirping from the dug out ever since he struck out.  How long are umps supposed to allow that to go on if arguing balls and strikes is a no no?  Not saying I disagree with you, just curious, I to thought it was bullshit, but if he had been chirping the entire time, I can see why the ump did eject him

Pirates released Erik Bedard today. Bedard was 7-14 ( most losses in MLB ) with a 5.01 ERA.

Yup, and it was painful to watch as well. Like I said, good luck to those guys if they do make it.

am I surprised that the whole season is unraveling before my eyes no, but while the playoffs ere a pipedream this collapse was not expected this year, they looked too good all season.

Was in losing Neil walker?
Pitching like last year realizing who they were?

McCutcheon could not keep up the 400 hitting all year?

Alvarez not getting pitches to hit out of the park?

the rest of the team really a .400% team?
