Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor

What did you think of this guy?

Good boxer?  Great boxer?

Overrated?  Underrated?

Best matches?

Anything else to add about Aaron Pryor.

I always remember him being discussed by analysts as a "knockout specialist."  He would be going even with an opponent or maybe even trailing and then he would put together a flurry or sometimes just one punch and it was over.

Talented boxer. Great victories over Alexis Arguello. I'm a shame we never got to see Pryor fight Sugar Ray Leonard.

If anybody says his two fights with Alexis Arguello (sp?) didn't define him, they are full of shit.  Arguello was considered the best technical pound for pound fighter on the planet and Pryor, controversiolly, beat him twice as I recall.   Pryor could fight, with or without cocaine water in the late rounds.  This was all back in the days when the standard fight was 15 rounds if a title was at stake, again from memory.

I think banned for life Panamas Lewis was his trainer, but that again is from memory.

He was a true bitch whatever happened in those fights.
