Crawford was Ok, but the Kings were sniping corners over his shoulder, which is Craws weak spot. If Craw wants to play the buttrfly like that, he has to come out further to give the shooters less of the top shelf to go for.

The last Kings goal was pure luck, it hit Johnny Oduya in the head (shot off the draw) and bounced right to Dustin Brown in the slot. Flukey way to lose a point but it's to be expected...the breaks have to even up sometime and the Hawks had more than their share during their win streak.

Pittsburgh makes another deal.

from tsn.ca:

A day after adding Brendan Morrow, the Pittsburgh Penguins continued to gear up for a Stanley Cup playoff run.

On Monday, the club acquired defenceman Douglas Murray from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for their second round draft pick in both the 2013 and 2014 NHL Drafts.

The 33-year-old Swede has scored three assists with a minus-eight rating in 29 games with the Sharks this season.

Murray is in the final year of a four-year, $10 million deal he signed with the Sharks prior to the 2009-10 season. That deal carries an average annual value of $2.5 million.

The six-foot-three, 240-pound Swede ranked first on the Sharks in blocked shots (64) third on the team in hits (56) all while managing only 17:09 average time on ice, his lowest total over the past four seasons.

Originally drafted in the eighth round (241st overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by the Sharks. In 451 career games - all with San Jose - he has scored six goals, added 53 assists and posted a plus-32 rating.

Doug Murray is as slow as molasses. Gave up way too much to get Him.

Semin signs extension with Carolina.

from tsn.ca:

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed forward Alexander Semin to a five-year, $35 million contract extension.

"We're very happy to retain Alex," said Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford. "Alex is an elite player and has been a major contributor to the Hurricanes having a very strong top line."

Semin, 29, is in his eighth NHL season and his first with the Hurricanes, after signing as a free agent on July 26, 2012.

Through 30 games this season, the Russian sniper has eight goals and 22 assists with a plus-18 rating. He is tied for 11th among all NHL skaters in assists this season, and tied for 10th in plus/minus rating.

Drafted by the Washington Capitals in the first round (13th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Semin has 499 career NHL games under his belt with 205 goals, 233 assists and a career plus-83 rating.

LOLz!!! Semin blows! Can anyone tell Me on why there was a lockout again? Me starting to think that Canadians aren't too bright.

How are you figuring that Carolina signing Semin to that contract means Canadians aren't too bright?

Leafs take 3 of 4 points vs Boston, in a home and home. Could have been 4 of 4 but squandered a 2-0 lead in Bos last night. Reimer played great in both games. Leafs are simply disgusting in the skills competition (shootout). They are 0-4 in shootout games this year and have scored a total of 3 goals. All 3 were scored by Tyler Bozak! Which means we have scored only 1 goal (max) per shootout. Too much pressure on the goalies. Shootouts suck.
(Of course if we had a good shootout record I would say 'shootouts are the best!')

Kadri with another point, and another solid game yesterday. Tied for 7th overall in points with Staal and Datsyuk.

Honestly, I'm not surprised by Kadri taking a step up.  There were lots of concerns (most famously by Dion Phaneuf) that he wasn't big enough, but he's got the height; he just needed a little girth.  I'm still leery of accepting the fact that the Leafs may have actually drafted a kid with first line offensive abilities.  It would be the first time since Wendel.

Boy did it get tiring listening to the TSN crew slurp on Kadri all freaking game. Once they came back from a commercial and Ferraro was simply gushing about Kadri trying ( and failing ) to knock Chara off the puck.....which had happened about 10 minutes earlier.

You can thank Pylon Phaneuf for losing that point last night. He had no idea what he was doing on Bergeron's tying goal.

we can thank Phagoof for many losses this year.

He did nail Chara at the buzzer which is funny cuz Kadri at the moment isnt showing fear, unlike Kessel who probably has nightmares when he sees Boston on the upcoming schedule.

Hawks beat Calgary 2-0. Emery gets the shutout. Actually the Calgary goaltender played great too. Hawks could have had 5 or 6 goals.

Was it as bad as Pierre blowing Crosby on-air every 10 seconds?
