I wouldn't want to play for a team that trades players mid game (I know he's not playing tonight, but the team is) They traded Rene Bourque mid game, it is quite disrespectful.

I am still perfectly happy about traing Colborne and 2 high picks to Toronto to get Kaberle for the Playoffs because without him Boston doesn't win the Cup. If Boston wins the Cup this year and then Iginla signs a huge UFA deal somewhere else I'll still be happy with the deal.

Well fuck me. As per Bob McKenzie via Twitter. Jarome Iginla traded to PIT for PIT's 1st rounder in 2013 and college prospects Kenneth Agostino (Yale) and Ben Hanowski (St. Cloud State). Crazy night. Sorry CH.

Looks like I might get my wish. from tsn.ca: According to TSN's Aaron Ward, the Boston Bruins have acquired Jarome Iginla from the Calgary Flames. Iginla was not in the Flames lineup for their game against the Colorado Avalanche tonight. TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie believes that defenceman Matt Bartkowski, prospect Alexander Khokhlachev, and a conditional first-round draft pick may be headed to Calgary in return, with the first rounder conditional on Iginla re-signing with the Bruins. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some are saying that the conditions are that Calgary can use the pick in 2013 or 2014. Regardless I can't see any reason that Iginla doesn't resign with Boston - he has said over the past few weeks that he didn't want to be a rental player and Boston will have a crap load of cap space left with Thomas, Savard and likely Ference and Horton all coming off the books after this season. By the way - all Bruin fans should send a BIG thanks to Islander GM Garth Snow for taking Tim Thomas's contract thus giving us the cap room to add Iginla without loosing anybody off the current roster.

Some are saying that McKenzie's twitter account got hack and that Iginla is still going to Boston while others are saying that the Pittsburgh deal is legit. If Flames fans thought the Boston deal was weak the Pittsburgh one looks worse....much worse.

From what I read, the Boston trade was a done deal in terms of both sides getting what they want, but it required approval from Iginla and he said no. Also in breaking news, Ray Shero isn't fucking around this year.

That's what all the sports stations are reporting this morning. Iginla vetoed the Boston deal. That's what happens when teams give their players no trade contracts.

Total WTF. Go to bed, he's apparently a Bruin. Get up this morning, he's a Penguin. Pens fans...thoughts on what you guys gave up? Good prospects, or did Feaster fuck up due to Iggy not going to Boston and have to settle for mediocre potential?

Gotta admit it though - he looks pretty good in a Bruins uniform: Jumped the Gun a bit?

Why would Iginla vetoe that trade if Boston was on his list of 4? Maybe he just thought, and rightfully so, that if all 4 teams on his list did end up making an offer, that Pitt would give him the best shot at the Cup. P.s. me and friends call Bob Mckenzie "johnny roast mckenzie' cuz when he first appeared on the scene, he looked so much like Johnny Roast Beef, from Goodfellas. Boston fans got 'trolled' hard last night.

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/29/dekeyser-chooses-detroit/ DeKeyser chooses Detroit Jason Brough Mar 29, 2013, 5:37 PM EDT The Detroit Red Wings have landed prized college free agent defenseman Dan Dekeyser, the club announced today. A Michigan native, DeKeyser (6-foot-3, 200 lbs) was playing college hockey for the Western Michigan Broncos prior to agreeing to terms on a two-year deal with the Wings. He had two goals and 15 points this season. DeKeyser, 23, will practice with his new NHL club tomorrow, though he won’t play Sunday or Monday. “We’re happy,” said Wings general manager Ken Holland. “You’re always looking for defenseman, and this guy is rangy, mobile.” Holland added: “He’ll be with us the rest of the regular season. When he plays is up to Mike Babcock, but we’re not holding tryouts. We’re trying to make the playoffs. Danny understands that we’re in a playoff race.” Following is a scouting report from last year on DeKeyser courtesy Red Line Report (via the Edmonton Journal): He plays a simple, defense first, stay-at-home game. DeKeyser is also highly mobile and a strong all-compass skater. He’s not flashy at the offensive end, but moves the puck well and gets it to the right spots by making good decisions. Efficiently gets the puck out of the zone with crisp outlets. He’s physical and wins the battles down low, keeps the crease clear, and plays with a bit of a nasty edge. He’s an outstanding penalty killer who blocks a ton of shots. DeKeyser has been named the CCHA’s best defensive defenseman the last two seasons.
