The Ducks have beaten the Hawks 3 times this season. The playoffs are a funky deal as you know. All it takes is a hot goalie to pull an upset in the first round.

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/05/sharks-sign-ncaas-leading-scorer-rylan-schwartz/ Sharks sign NCAA’s leading scorer Rylan Schwartz James O'Brien Apr 5, 2013, 7:33 PM EDT The San Jose Sharks added a couple college free agents on Friday, including the NCAA’s leading scorer Rylan Schwartz. They also signed forward Eriah Hayes from Minnesota State University. Schwartz is the brother of St. Louis Blues prospect Jaden Schwartz. He scored 53 points as a senior at Colorado College this season. Here’s what Doug Wilson had to say about the 23-year-old, via a team release: “Rylan had a very impressive season with Colorado College under head coach Scott Owens,” Wilson said. “He has improved each of his four collegiate seasons and we look forward to helping him continue to develop and advance his career.” Wilson also praised Hayes, 24, who scored 36 points in 41 games. “Eriah has had an outstanding collegiate career under the tutelage of both Mike Hastings and Troy Jutting, along with their staffs, and we are excited to add him to our prospect pool,” Wilson said. “His leadership this season as one of the team captain’s is something we feel will help him with his professional development, and we are excited to be a part of that process.” No word regarding the likelihood of either forward making an impact on the NHL roster this season.

Do they even sell these in the usa? I'm watching the Leafs/Devils game and I saw the commercial selling these Budweiser Red Lights. I guess it hooks in with your wifi and you can program it with an app to go off when goals are scored for your team https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BV_jDWuE2tk

( SIGH ) It's times like this that makes me miss stingmark being around here even more. Can't you just imagine his " Howard sucks " rant right about now ???? from tsn.ca: The Red Wings and goaltender Jimmy Howard are near an agreement that would keep him off the free-agent market this summer. “It’s really, really close,” Howard said Thursday. Added Detroit general manager Ken Holland: “We’re close, but it’s not a done deal.” Howard is in the second season of a two-year, $4.5-million deal. Detroit drafted him in the second round of the 2003 NHL draft and he’ll probably be under contract for the rest of this decade with the storied franchise. “It definitely means a lot,” Howard said. Howard said negotiations aren’t a distraction because he went through similar talks during the 2010-11 season. “It’s not something that gets done overnight,” he said. “You just have to just take care of your job and everything will happen.” The 29-year-old Howard is the first goalie in franchise history to win at least 35 games in each of his first three full seasons. Detroit is clinging to eighth place in the Western Conference and is hoping to close the season well enough to make a 22nd straight post-season appearance. Howard said any time is a good time to sign a new deal, but he insists his priorities at the moment are elsewhere. “Right now, the focus is getting in the playoffs,” he said.
