The Krazykid crystal ball (post from 11-14-07) looms ominously

As a BIG Blur fan I gotta say that Eli played well.  i think the Cowboys have lost a bit and it will be a good game on Sunday.

Go G-Men!

Well sure - if the Giants manage to win you can say that you called it all along but if the Cowboys win ( and they will win ) you can blame it on Dallas having the home field advantage, the refs making sure that it will be a Dallas vs New England Super Bowl or some other flimsy excuse. The fact is that Eli played very well today but he will not come anywhere near repeating these heroics next week. My prediction - Dallas wins fairly easily 28 to 13.

Eli played OK vs. a team that was pretty weak.  This coming from a Bucs fan.  The NFC South isn't exactly a strong division.

The Bucs D was missing it's top cover corner Brian Kelly.  When Kelly is our Barber plays the cover corner wich makes him one dimensional (No blitzes).  With out it's best Defensive Tackle).  Without Cato June at LB, and he's a stud.  I can't call him their number one LB, because I'm too big a fan of Derrick Brooks. And without it's starting strong saftey.

The Bucs offense was ONLY without it's best receiver and best running back.

Lets not cannonize Eli yet.

As a big Giants fan, I am very concerned.  I always think back to 1986 and the NYG-Redskins rivalry.  We won both times in the regular season, and they were pretty close games.  Then, we spanked them in the Meadowlands (it was Carl Banks coming out party, as he played the game of his life).  That's what I think of every time a team tries to erase an 0-2 deficit in the playoffs.

My mind says Dallas will win, but it will be closer than people think.  My heart says, of course, that this playoffs could be Eli finally earning his money.  I hope for the latter.

I'd much rather play Seattle, who I still maintain is not that good.

I dreamt last night that Jax defeats Indy in the next round, then woke up and saw the pairings today. So much for my premonition.

NE over Jax - Garrard's in over his head.

Indy big over SD - Fired Shottenheimer to win one easy playoff game.

GB over Seattle - Favre won't throw two TDs to Seattle (will he?) EDIT - this is the game that could be the upset.

Dallas over Giants - Eli does his Deer in Headlights.

Giants have a better shot over Dallas that Seattle does against GB. Seattle has no running game (Alexander is horrible) and the GB D will challenge Hasselbeck to beat them.  Holmgren's 0-3 vs. the Pack at Lambeau.   Make that 0-4.

Agreed on the running game, but Seattle made mincemeat of Washington, which had been playing inspiring ball lately. Coulda been the homefield advantage, but still. It was impressive. I think Dal-Giants will come down to TO: he's a big game player and this is a big game.

Copied and pasted from ESPN.com:

"Right now, it's difficult to know if Owens will be available. He apparently has been rehabilitating his high ankle sprain so relentlessly that he was meeting with trainers on Christmas Day and New Year's. If we had to wager, we'd assume Owens will be dressed on Sunday. His ankle probably won't be 100 percent -- such injuries tend to linger -- but his presence alone makes all the difference for the Cowboys' offense."

I thought he was in a little bit better shape than this report is indicating. If he's out or a non-factor, then Giants do have a chance - assuming Eli doesn't throw too many INTs.

They need to change his name to Enigma Manning.  Christ, what an emotional rollercoaster he puts a fan through!

Bingo or any other old G-Men fans, do you guys ever remember Simms being as up and down as Eli when he was just a kid?  I remember fans bitching about him but always thought he was pretty solid, even if Parcells sometimes didn't (ie-benching him for Scott Brunner).

Good thing that coaches never lie about injuries. ;)

He plays. The guy is a gamer. (where's the sports cliche list?)

And he "gets great separation after the catch".  His buddy, Marion Barber, is a hell of a "downfield runner".
