In the "Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious" department, I offer Cedric Benson of the Bears  and Alex Smith of the 49er's.

Vince Young.
Ted Ginn Jr.

Any and all draft picks made by the Atlanta Falcons since 1988.

How about the Vikings handing the keys to Tavarus Jackson and expecting Brooks Bollinger to be the #2? When TJ went down, they didn't trust Brooks and brought in Kelly Holcomb. Then when Kelly and TJ went down, Brooks had to start and Koy Detmer was reclaimed from the scrap heap. There are 4 QBs on the Vikings and not one is an NFL starter and maybe only one is capable of being a second stringer. Nice job Childress.

I'm actually starting to believe that Alex Smith is retarded or the 49er's offensive coordinator is.  Running backwards on every play while attempting to throw is not a sound system.  It might not even beat Notre Dame.
Well, that's stretching it.

I guess Vernon Davis of SF qualifies for the bust list.  He sure likes to talk though.

While I bring up draft pick failures, a great article came out about "All Undrafted':

I'd take this team to make the playoffs this season.  They'd have a strong shot at winning the NFC West outright.

Phillip Rivers. No idea why SD got rid of Brees.

My favorite part of that story is - Keith was even forced to spend five years in the Canadian Football League before getting a shot this preseason with the Colts. "   Oh that poor bastard - imagine having to play football in 10 feet of snow and eating nothing but seal meat, poutine and beer.

Personally, I think (read as: hope) it's more a case of regressing, givien the wholesale changes in the San Diego coaching regime.  He did manage to quarterback the Chargers to 14-2 last season.

Good point. He wasn't asked to do much last year. It seems like the Bolts are calling on him more this season and he ain't delivering, though. For all the weapons he has (Gates, Tomlinson, Kaeding, Chambers), I say bust.

Kaeding is a kicker, how is he a weapon for Rivers?

The whole NFL draft process is overrated when they miss so badly on guys like Romo, Willie Parker, and Tom Brady.  Then the same guys who felt Joey Harrington, Cedric Benson, and Tim Couch were going to be studs still keep their jobs and are people "we should listen to".

I'd love to see the original "Mel Kuiper" reports on alot of these guys.  Despite the sheer closeted homosexuality of the draft reports, the ratings would be interesting if only for humor.
