You never know how this will go, but Jay Cutler is being parachuted into the #2 broadcast team with Kevin Burkhardt and also Charles Davis. Burkhardt worked with John Lynch, the 49ers new GM, on the #2 team last season and Davis was with Thom Brenneman on the #4 team joined occasionally by Chris Spielman as a trio. The idea is that having Davis there will help Cutler ease into the spot. When Troy Aikman went to Fox he was on the #2 team initially with Dick Stockton and Daryl Johnston, the latter of whom was a former teammate who'd already been in the booth for a few seasons. The idea there was that Aikman was bound for bigger things. On that note, that Cutler is being put in this spot instead of working with Dick Stockton or Sam Rosen on the #6 or #7 team with games of less importance and smaller viewing audiences says that Fox was pretty impressed and expects big things down the line.

That announce team will be a dumpster fire. Burkhardt is annoying and Charles Davis is terrible.

Well it's not like ESPN laid off amazing football analysts. It was Trent Dilfer and Mark May.

$5 mil is [highlight= rgb(248, 248, 248);]guaranteed. There are also $3 mil in incentives. He could make $13 mil total.

I guess he will start. There goes the Dolphins season. At least we don't have to listen to him in the booth.

Surprised they didn't just go with Matt Moore. Tannehill sucks so I don't think Cutler makes them any worse though.

Miami was my pick all along for the team who would take a dive this season. Like the Jets were last year.

IMO - Culter can make any team worse.
