This thread is a multi-purpose thread in regards to NFL week one. Picks, fantasy talk, smack-talk, in-game chat, all is 'in play' here.

The NFL cannot get a break as it pertains to Thursday Night Football. Two teams that looked horrible (Houston and Cincy) square off.

The World Champion Patriots will try to rebound from their Thursday night beating aqt the hands of KC.

Who were those guys impersonating the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday?

Green Bay and Atlanta in a playoff rematch.

Houston at Cincy (6.5)
Tennessee (2.5) at Jacksonville
Cleveland at Baltimore (8)
Buffalo at Carolina (7.5)
New England (6.5) at New Orleans
Arizona (7) at Indianapolis
Philadelphia at Kansas City (5.5)
Minnesota at Pittsburgh (5.5)
Chicago at Tampa Bay (7)
Miami at Chargers (4)
NY Jets at Oakland (14)
Washington at Rams (2.5)
Dallas (2) at Denver
San Fran at Seattle (14)
Green Bay at Atlanta (2.5)
Detroit at NY Giants (3.5)

The Vikings looked good against the Saints on Monday, but now get a tougher test with a visit to the Steelers on a short week. The Vikes won their 2013 meeting in London, but haven't won in Pittsburgh since 1995, losing two games there since then including 2009 when the Vikes made the NFC Championship Game.

There are just so many bad teams in the NFL. Does Seattle have the offense to cover a -14 on San Fran? Oakland should since the Jets coach will punt in totally inappropriate situations.

Panthers should smoke the Bills. That line should go up.

Touching on an item that came up in the week 1 thread, Beth Mowins and Jay Feely will get their first assignment for CBS in week 3 when they cover Browns-Colts in a game unlikely to get much clearance outside of Indiana, Ohio and some bits of the surrounding states that fall into DMAs centered in the main viewing area.

Yes, and I think that's the only game this season where CBS needs an 8th crew. Feely has some experience and is calling college games for CBS Sports Network. That should be better than that clusterfuck ESPN saddled her with.

Mowins and Feely will get another chance in Week 17 as long as a CBS game doesn't get pulled to SNF by NBC. There is an odd chance at an extra game if CBS gets a game back from NBC on a flex if the SNF game is changed.

I should add it would have to be a week in which CBS already has 7 games and for whatever reason Fox couldn't or wouldn't take the flexed out game.

The Raiders have their first home regular season game since the Las Vegas move became official. They're going to be in Oakland for at least two more seasons, possibly three, and maybe even four. That's a long time to be a lame duck and we will see how the fans react. At least the team is good again. The only venue in Vegas that could possibly accommodate them on a temporary basis is Sam Boyd Stadium which is the home of the Las Vegas Bowl and UNLV football. It's a dump, but could be made into a reasonable temporary home if needed, such as if the city of Oakland and Alameda County really try to jack the Raiders if the lease at the Coliseum must be extended (I think it runs through 2018). So far the Raiders have no interest in any stand in venue and want to debut in Las Vegas at their new home. However, right now I think they're doing site surveys and aren't close to having any actual construction start.

I lost the satellite feed for about 45 min during a thunderstorm last night and was kind of thankful about it.

Scrap Thursday night's and do Monday Night doubleheaders every week.  I think even between lesser teams the games will be more entertaining thatn what we get from teams on 3 days rest.

Chiefs beat the Eagles 27-20. Two more TD's for Kareem Hunt, and Chris Jones has a career day with 3 sacks and an INT on Wentz.
