The Packers will very likely beat the Browns in Cleveland this coming weekend. That would get them to 7-6. In week 14 they go to Charlotte to play the Panthers. Right now the Packers are 2 games out of the Wildcard race. The Seahawks have the first spot and the Panthers the second. Then the Falcons and Lions sit ahead of the Packers. The big thing for the Packers is getting the help they need elsewhere while preferably also upsetting the Panthers. The Vikings go to Lambeau in week 16. Long story short, I don't want Rodgers playing. I want the Packers out of it and him shut down for the season. That's unlikely, however.

Is the reason you don't want him playing out of concern for the injury? I am not a Packers fan but I really enjoy watching him play. A great QB.

It's not at all concern for the injury. The Packers are better with Aaron Rodgers than without. I want the Vikings to beat them and if he plays at Lambeau in week 16, the chances of that decrease. The Packers are 6-1-1 against the Vikings at home since 2010. I'll take any advantage available for the Vikes to cut that to 6-2-1 after this season.

People saying that the Packers can win vs Cleveland and then get Rodgers back and get into the playoffs ..... while I suppose anything is possible, I still don't see them leap-frogging anyone.

They are more likely lose to Cleveland than get into the playoffs.

I say this a Vikings diehard who considers the Packers as the enemy, a team to be hated and derided. While they have certainly been good for much of the past 25 years (may it soon end), they are also the beneficiaries of more good luck and fortune (helpful calls from the officials just when they're needed, Pop Warner level mistakes by the opposition, fluke plays in their favor, busted plays that work out, etc.) in single games than the Vikes normally get in a season. So far they've been unlucky. The pessimism that lurks inside every Vikings fan, even an optimist/realist like me, fears that all the missed opportunities will come together these next four weeks to manifest in $700,000,000 Power Ball win level luck. The Browns are beatable. So are the Lions. The Vikings ought to win, but strange things happen at Lambeau. As for the Panthers, we shall see. The Packers are like a horror film slasher. You think you kill them, the cops arrive, and you are filled with relief, but then they burst out of the body bag and either kill a bunch more people before being taken down or escape to set up a sequel. Until they're out of the playoffs for sure, they're still in. Beware.

You have nothing to worry about Tamalie.

The 'Pack' will go in Sunday with a conservative don't screw it up gameplan and are fairly likely to lose to Cleveland.

The year after Aaron Rodgers retires, McCarthy will be selling flowers on the side of the road

Ten years from now we will look back at Green Bay's Favre-Rodgers era and wonder how they had 'Hall of Fame' caliber QBing for 30 years and only won two titles.
