A plane belonging to Roy Halladay has crashed in the Gulf of Mexico.  No other details available right now.

Update - 1 dead but no word if that was Halladay. He did fly the plane a lot.

I'm sure if it wasn't Halladay who died, he or his family would have notified the media & authorities.

Rich dudes need to stop flying their own planes.  Unless you're Bruce Dickinson and you can handle a legit 747.  These small planes are death traps and there must be at least one high-profile death a year due to this.

He lived in my general area for several years. I never met him but I know many who did and he was always a class act. Never big timed anyone. Even the pizza shop he ordered from liked him. Wow.
