Clemson Oklahoma GeorgiaAlabama
The college football playoffs have been announced, 3 no brainerd and one controversial choice to do battle on the field to determine this years NCAA champions.
Who ya got?
Clemson vs AlabamaThe 2 teams who battled it out in the last 2 championship games meet again this time in the semifinals, assuring that at least one of them will have been in the championship game 3 years in a row.
Clemson is red hot having just destroyed Miami, while Alabama couldn't even win their conference or division and got in strictly on name recognition and hype, I expect a blowout in Clemsons favor.
Oklahoma vs Georgia
Oklahoma has the best offense of the 4 led by presumed Heisman trophy winner Baker Mayfield but do not have much of a defense, while Georgia has a stout defense and is the most physical team of the four and has avenged their one loss from the regular season.
This one I think is going to be one helluva ballgame, but I just have a hunch that Oklahoma is going to pull it out.
Which would be a Clemson vs Oklahoma finals if it happens, if so I would not be certain yet who to pick.

Team A went 11-1 and lost on the road to the #6 team.

Team B went 11-1 and lost to a team that went 4-8.

Team C went 11-2, lost decisively at home to a team in the playoff and lost by 31 to a 7-5 team.

If you look at it that way, there isn't much controversy. Team A is Alabama. Team B is Clemson. And Team C is Ohio State.

It's only controversial because winning your conference championship game was supposed to be a big deal, and Bama didn't.

The best part is tard Ohio State fans crying about this when they got in the same way last year. I guess nothing applies to them.

For me anyway, these conference championship games are just worthless money grabs much like everything NCAA related.

Winning the conference is a big deal, but Alabama was #1 all season and its only loss was to a good Auburn team. Ohio State losing to Oklahoma was credible. Getting destroyed in brutal fashion by a good, but ordinary, Iowa team was not. The Buckeyes held their fate in their own hands and dropped it. I have no problem at all with the CFP committee's decision and don't at all think the playoff needs to go beyond four teams.

Ohio State got crushed by Iowa. That pretty much ended their chances unless they had put a historical whipping on Wisconsin. When that didn't happen, I just think they had no real case. If they had gone into the Big 10 Championship game with only 1 lose and it wasn't the Iowa blowout, then they would be in the playoffs.

Bama lost 1 game all year and it was to a highly ranked team. It would have been very interesting to see what would have happened had Auburn defeated Georgia.
