When the Twins won the World Series in 1991, I was lucky enough to attend Game 7. When it ended, my buddy and poured into the streets and a euphoric celebration occurred that was fun for about an hour. After that time period elapsed, the fans who'd actually been in the stands had largely dispersed. What remained were college kids and people in their 20s who'd poured into downtown from bars and elsewhere for their version of a celebration. The mayhem never remotely got close to what happened last night in Philadelphia, but it felt very forced and artificial, just an excuse for people to drunkenly run around making a commotion.

The game began to seem irrelevant, so we got out of Dodge. Keep in mind that my friend and I were 19 and 20 respectively, so we were in the target market for this sort of thing, but it just didn't feel right. That night in Minneapolis and last night in Philly also show that when people lose their identities in the crowd, they are prone to encouraging or doing things that they'd normally never get involved with.

ALL of the coaching by the Patriots last night made no sense. You have the GOAT QB and you have him go out to catch a pass? You do that stupid reverse at the end of the game when you have no time and you need every yard you can get? Just insane..

Is Beej out of jail yet? I'm sure he got arrested for public drunkenness or for tearing down a light pole. LOL

The reverse on the kick-off return really was just a horrendous call.  You take valuable seconds off the clock that Brady could've desperately used to run a trick play that almost never works and has a high probability of causing a turnover, at which point the game ends without Brady ever getting another touch.  Just stupidity.  You want to be conservative there and just let Brady do his thing with as much time as possible.  Not to mention the fact that the Patriots special teams was pretty awful last night, sure more on the kicking side, but still why trust them with your season at the very end instead of Brady?

Not that I've heard of.  Butler was sick earlier in the week but says he was healthy enough to play (and he did play on special teams).  Butler basically threw himself a pity party and told the media that he feels his coach lost confidence in him and that he assumes he wasn't playing well enough down the stretch.  I don't follow the team well enough to know how he played, but Patriots fans who know more than I say he was playing fine and should've been in there.

With Belichick you need to read between the lines.  There is zero doubt in my mind that Butler did something incredibly stupid on Friday or Saturday night.  Whether it be coming in late or missing curfew completely, missing a meeting, or anything worse.  Belichick has rules and everybody is supposed to follow them - and he's a hard ass about it.

Yea and he apparently yelled at some coaches. Still, when Rowe was getting toasted, I probably would have put him in. It wasn't like he was suspended. He did get one play on special teams.

If they weren't going to use him why activate him? Give the spot to a guy on practice squad and use him on special teams

I wonder if the 1 play had something to do with his contract. One of those if you play in the Super Bowl you get a $100k bonus or something like that.

With the current climate, i thought perhaps he was accused of some sort of sexual misconduct.
At least he didn't grope anyone.

If sexual misconduct was on the table, the guy doesn't even suit up. He not only was in uniform, he got on the field for a special teams play.

An Eagles fan got a tattoo of the trick play where Foles caught a TD.
