Kelly Stouffer was picked by the Cardinals 6th overall in 1987, but refused to sign. He held out for his entire would be rookie season and was traded to the Seahawks in 1988, but never broke through.

The 49ers took Jim Druckenmiller 26th overall in 1997, but he was out of the NFL after the 1999 season with 239 career passing yards and 1 TD pass.

He did have a 6 year, uneventful career in the NFL, but what about Todd Blackledge? The fact that he was drafted ahead of Dan Marino and Jim Kelly doesn't help his status.

The way back machine:

John Reaves - 1972, 14th pick overall by the Eagles. A bust. Wound up trading for Roman Gabriel and gave up numerous high draft picks.

Much later (mid-70's), King Hill would go on to co-found the Ronald McDonald House, so his legacy lives on even though it wasn't through football.
