For the first time ever a 16 seed whips a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, thus busting the Hell out of every bracket in the country, where does this rank as far as largest upsets in sports history?
UCMB has Kansas State next and will probably cone crashing down to Earth, but what a feel good story for everybody who us not a Virginia fan.

Incredible. Haven't seen many tournament games yet, but I sat down last night and happened to catch the entire 2nd half of this game and saw the run. It was amazing. Lyles and Mauro were on fire. Mauro is a little spark plug, and Lyles could not miss anything. He had a golden touch. I was waiting for the bottom to fall out, but they kept holding strong and applying pressure. At some point with about six minutes left, it was like, shit, they are going to pull this off. Incredible game.

Funny I don't think it will get as much attention as it would if a last second basket had won it, but it deserves to be recognized as a real "holy shit!" Moment in not just basketball but in sports, period.
It was such a beatdown there was no definitive moment, you know?

They got beat down because Beej picked them in the march madness pool.

That it happened is enough to cement this game in history even if it was a blowout and there wasn't a singular moment that can get replayed forever like Laettner's shot for Duke over Kentucky in 1992. A #16 seed beat a #1 seed for the first time ever after no #16 had come truly close since Princeton lost by a single point to Georgetown in 1989. More than few people thought we might never see a 16 beat 1 in our lifetime. Now it has happened after 34 years of the tourney having this format. It's getting massive attention today and will throughout the tourney. We will never escape hearing about this every March.

Definitely not a defining moment, but there was one sequence (and I'd have to go back and check the exact time, but I think it was around 4:45 left) where UMBC made a bucket, Virgina came back and Mauro stole it and charged up, dumped it off to the corner who hit a three.  That was the dagger.  It seemed like at that point, Virginia was done.
The other play that sticks out is when the whistle was blown and Lyles just threw it up there, just fucking around, and still drained the basket from 30-ft away.
