Traded on the weekend from Hamilton to Montreal. With what Montreal paid for him by CFL standards he's not going there to be a back up.
Montreal really has no one else. Don't know if he will start this weekend but after that I'm thinking he's the starter. Unless he runs home to daddy.

So any of you Muricans who can pick up CFL games might want to check him out.
I think he'll either be Flutie like or a complete dud. No in between.

I saw him play a little - if he learns the playbook, he will be just fine.  He has the proper game style for the CFL but I think Flutie had a stronger arm so it will be interesting to see how he does on the deep ball.  The five minutes I saw him play convinced me he can still play in the NFL if he gets a shot.

Getting used to Hamilton would have been tough for Johnny Hotdog.
Not sure he is going to like Montreal at all. Well it's not like many people will see him play. Not sure but I think their attendance is nearly as bad as the defending Grey Cup Champion Argonauts barely cracking 10,000.
Heard the beat writer for Hamilton say the Manziel style appears to be to run around like a maniac and then throw to whoever looks open.

Hasn’t that always been his style?

Mike Sherman the Alouettes head coach was also Maziel's head coach at Texas A&M. I'm sure he'll do just fine.

It wouldn't surprise me if he is the one that pushed for the trade by saying something like "we wouldn't be 1-4 if I had a QB like Johnny Manziel starting for me".

Wasn't Mike Sherman the coach I saw on Sportsnet awhile back who couldn't figure out how to get his headset off?

Not wishing Manziel bad luck. If he does well I guess it might be good for the game.

We finally have a commissioner with more than two brain cells that aren't playing tag and their have been some positive signs.

As long as MOntreal sucks bag when they play the Winnipeg Blue Bombers then I don't care, really.

Johnny Manziel was recruited by Mike Sherman to Texas A&M and was a redshirt freshman under him, but never actually played in a game for him. Sherman was out and Kevin Sumlin was in by the time Manziel had his breakout season as a redshirt freshman.

ESPN has the CFL rights and airs them on ESPN+ which is its new subscription OTT service. ESPN2 also has a few CFL games, at least before college football season stars.
