An unconfirmed report surfaced this morning the Patriots were working on a deal to trade Rob Gronkowski. Since then, it was suggested that New England had offers on the table from both the Titans and 49ers for one of the best tight ends ever to do it.

The latest stunner, though? Per reporter Adam Kurkjian, New England was on the verge of trading No. 87, but Tom Brady threatened to retire if a deal went through.

Interesting question. There are likely quite a few, more than at any other time in pro sports just because of how things are now but how many athletes (who) besides  LeBron and Brady exert souch control over what their teams ultimately do.
Brady vso fucking insecure he gets the Patriots to trade away all their QB's and LeBron to me is just a whiny little bitch.
That fag McDavid in Edmonton, Crosby in Pittsburgh, who else?

What did McDavid do to influence the front office in Edmonton.

I'm thinking ahead. But I'm sure he's already influenced some decision or other.

I doubt he had anything to do with the ineptness of Peter Chiarelli and past GMs the Oilers have had.

With Jimmy Garopollo waiting in the wings, do you really believe that a 40 year quarterback threatening to retire would scare the Patriots. Does anyone really see Brady playing after this season.

Garoppolo was traded to San Fran last season near the end.

Brady is making damned sure that when he leaves that team is pure garbage so he gets 100% of the credit for their run..

I know that but Bellichick wanted to keep him as the quarterback of the future. This was similar to Montana/Young and Favre/Rodgers situation.
