Got a feeling Him, LeBron & George are going to be Lakers next season.

Yea, I want to be a billionaire. The Spurs will not trade him to a conference rival and no team in the east (well, except the Knicks who do stupid shit all the time) will want him as a 1 year rental.

If I was LeBron, Kawhi, or any other high profile free agent the terms of my signing would be that Lonzo Ball and his asshole father were traded out of town.

If he gets traded he probably goes to the Eastern conference for a year so the Spurs don't have to play him.

Kawhi Leonard lived his entire life in Southern California, attending HS in the Inland Empire and then college at San Diego State, before getting drafted by the Spurs. I think he'd be very happy to sign a long term deal with the Lakers if a trade happened. It's easy for the Spurs to say they don't want to send him to a Western Conference rival, but it's a players league and players mostly seem to go where they want to, contracts or not.

The core of the Spurs, apart from Leonard, is old. If we assume Leonard is gone and not counting who might come via a trade, of the guys who got meaningful minutes last season, only Kyle Anderson and Dejounte Murray will be under 30 in the 2018-19 season. The Spurs have had an incredible run, but the end looks like it's approaching. If Leonard can't be brought around, trade him for picks and the ability to clear cap room out. Maybe they can strike gold like the season David Robinson was hurt and they fell into the #1 pick and took Tim Duncan.

Well, at this point, I think the last thing Pop will do is give this guy his way especially after his antics last season. Pop has 5 rings and his place in basketball is assured. KL came off like either a spoiled brat or just a punk last year. I will bet he won't be on the Lakers next year. Probably the year after though. Not sure I would even want him to be honest.

Exactly what happen to Leonard and Spurs/Popovich? There seems to be a ton of tension between the two.

KL had a Quad contusion that basically kept him out all year. He did not want to be treated by team Dr's and did not want to participate in any team activities at all. Zero. There is some thought that he was protecting his brand so that the can maximize his brand value when he plays for LA. This guy is a billboard for everything that is wrong with the system. He was allowed to get away with it and still made great money.

The fact that the Sixers want him and seem willing to trade some serious assets is unreal since he will only be there a year.

Pop doesn't seem like the easiest guy to play for. When the rings were coming in and the Spurs were contending for more, his humorless and driven behavior was easier for players to go along with. This past season the Spurs failed to win at least 50 games for only the third time going back to 1993-94 (the other two were 1996-97 when David Robinson was out almost the whole season and they then got the #1 pick to take Tim Duncan, the other was the 1998-99 work stoppage season when they would have won 50 had it been a full year). They were the #7 seed on a tiebreaker and nearly missed the playoffs. You can certainly say that this was because Kawhi Leonard missed the entire season, but it's also because this is an old team that doesn't look like it will be a title contender for a while. I think Leonard wants to go home, wants to be done with Popovich, and wants to not be first mate to Pop when the ship starts sinking in San Antonio.

Exactly no of us know, Kawhi doesn't speak and for years Kawhi was looked as the golden boy of professional athletes he is all about basketball, he doesn't drive a flashy car and drives the car he had as a 17yr old all those great stories
Now that he has an issue with the Spurs he is hollywood and doesn't like the Spurs way of doing things.
I will wait for kawhi to tell me what the true issue is with the Spurs organization because the hit pieces coming out on him aren't fair

Going to LA is strange destination for him. I don't recall him speaking at all on TV. If he goes to the Lakers he will have microphones in his face all day long.

He's from Southern California and grew up a Lakers fan. He'd have been late grade school when the Shaq/Kobe Lakers won three straight titles and finishing high school and starting college at San Diego State when Kobe won the titles after Shaq left. I think he's less concerned with the media and thinking more about childhood dreams of wearing the gold and purple while also going home. He also seems to be alienated in San Antonio, so if he's going, this is probably the top choice if he can pick the spot.

It is pretty clear that the Spurs want a big ransom from the Lakers if they are going to trade him in the conference. From the press accounts, the Lakers don't want to give up that much since they feel they will get him the year after next anyway. However, if the Lakers sign both George and James then there will be no room for KL. It only works if KL gets traded to the Lakers and then signed. As a FA there will be a good chance he wouldn't fit into the cap especially if the Lakers are fortunate enough to get the other 2.

Then, he would be screwed. While I want James to come to Philly, if a consolation prize was KL getting screwed, then that would be fine by me. I am sure that the Knicks, who do stupid shit all the time, would sign him as a FA.

Spurs want Kuzma included in trade. Lakers are refusing to give him up. Paul George and Julius Randle represented by same agent. Randle left the Lakers and George is playing with Westbrook instead of James.
