Yea, it makes sense for him. He has a house there, a production company that has done a ton of shows now and his family knows the lie of the land. People in Philly were engaging in hilarious wishful thinking. When it was announced yesterday that the Sixers were meeting with James' reps in LA, my wife and I were in the car coming back from a trip out to western PA. The weekend sports talk guy all but had LBJ coming here. I called and got on the air. Told him the fact that the meeting wasn't with LBJ himself told me that it was a thanks for coming out but you are wasting your time meeting.

The weekend sports talker went crazy on me. Told me I was 100% wrong. 45 minutes later, the signing with LA was announced. Unfortunately, that guy wasn't on the air by then.

Makes sense money wise but I don't see him ever getting back to a finals now that he's gone to LA. The only way it could happen is if they end up with Kawhi, be it this year or next. He's 33, he'll be 34 in December and he's only played 15 seasons but adding in his playoff games he's actually going on games-wise his 18th season. He's a physical phenom but you can't cheat father time, ask Kobe. In the next few years he's going to start slowing down and/or breaking down..

It isn't about the NBA it is about his future after the NBA this deal was in place since 2016 once the Warner Brothers was made.

The Lakers are still in great salary cap shape even after giving LeBron all that money. The 2018-19 season will likely be a transitional one for the team, but you'll see some of the higher end role players signing one year deals for veteran minimums and whatever cap exceptions the Lakers have. I think the team will be rebuilt for 2019-20. It's a players league. Another big gun will want to go there and they'll find a way. Apart from the Chris Paul trade that got squashed, I struggle to recall the last time a major player wanted to go somewhere and it didn't happen.

Adding Kawhi Leonard though still doesn't make them better than Golden State...

Who is going to sink 3's on the Lakers? Right now that team even with Lebron is still terrible defensively. They can't stop Thompson, Curry and Iguodala dropping Three's on them, and they can't keep up on their end.

It's hard to say "that's a lot of money" when we deal with these contracts every day. It's also hard to say that the Lakers made a bad move, because it doesn't really matter if they win a title - they will recoup this money based on higher ticket prices and merch sales all around. For their sake as a basketball team, I hope they add a piece for LeBron to play with because he's not going to be "THE LeBron James" in a couple of years because everybody in the NBA breaks down physically at a certain point.

I say good for LeBron to do what he wants to do, but this wasn't necessarily the best move for him to make if he wants more rings.

The Lakers will probably land KL next year but they could also get Kevin Durant. Durant has another out in his contract with the Warriors. The Lakers could be another super team the year after next.

Warriors signing Boogie Cousins ...three peat.

Lakers with James, McGee, Rondo, Stephonson will battle Houston and Boston for #2 team next year.

#2 team next year? No way...they have nobody that can shoot other than Lebron. It's not just that they don't have good shooters, they literally have the 2 worst shooting point guards now in the league on their team, Ball and Rondo.  I mean, Brandon Ingram can score but other than Lebron that's about it. Shit, Stephenson was out of the league a few years back, he's not going to add anything other than maybe some comedy on the court..

Kuzma is a young stud plus I would start Caldwell-Pope over Ball.Plus Nick Wright could cream himself everytime Lebron scored 50 even tho they lose.
