Carolina head coach Ron Rivera gets the ax . Norv Turner gets shifted to special assistant which means he's out next. Perry Fewell becomes head coach.

Already have heard that he could go to Dallas or the Giants after the season. He will coach next season somewhere in the NFL.

I'd take him over Pat Shurmur in a heartbeat.

It was time. He is a good coach but a change was needed. His in-game decision making can be strange at times. He will have a head coaching job next year.

He sounded very bitter during his exit press conference. He might coach coach again in the same division as Panthers.

He's a pretty good HC, but he's a fool to go to the Skins. Washington is where coaches go to die. He'll be fired in 3 years and his career will be over.

Ron Rivera is a good hire for the Redskins. Firing Bruce Allen was also a wise move. The Redskins have the potential to turn things around, but only if Daniel Snyder hires a quality replacement for Allen that can work in tandem with rather than in opposition to Rivera and then lets the people do their jobs and gets out of the way. Snyder is such a thin skinned control freak with a desire for immediate results in a setting requiring patience that he perpetually inserts himself where he does not belong, looks for yes men when hiring, and generally undermines the authority of his staff. Only if Snyder is serious about giving Rivera and Allen's replacement time and authority will things have a chance of turning around for the Redskins.

I think hiring Jack Del Rio as their man in charge of the defense is a better move. They have talent on defense just injured last season. The offense is another thing. Haskins and Kennan wont get them far.

As long as Daniel Snyder owns the team, nothing matters. The Redskins will fail under any HC.

Rivera was totally screwed over by Lovie Smith when Rivera was the DC of the Bears; Lovie forced him out over "philosophical differences" but the word was Smith got rid of someone in-house who could take his job (this was after the Bears choked in the SB).

I wish this was a year later, the Bears will be looking for a new HC and probably a GM as well by then.
