Terrible news.

Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas Sunday morning ... TMZ Sports has confirmed.

Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.

Jesus Christ. I'm shocked and sad. As a Lakers fan who saw him from start to finish I'm literally crying here..
RIP to arguably the greater Laker of all time.

Some awful rumors that some of his daughters were on the helicopter too, and I even heard Rick Fox’s name mentioned. Really hope none of thst is true.

Loved watching him play and as the end career was coming, he started to appreciate the fans around the league. Glad his wife and kids weren't onboard.

Unfortunately it seems like his 13-year old was on the flight. Not 100% confirmed but seems like the case. That’s the heartbreaking part more than anything else.

Confirmed that 13-year old Gianna Bryant is also dead. They were reportedly going to Gianna’s game and one of her teenage teammates and that teammate’s parent was also on board. Damn.  2 kids dead.

Last night I listened to a radio interview with Lebron, who described the first time he met his idol Kobe. Supposedly, Kobe's last tweet was to Lebron, congratulating him for passing him on the all time scroing list.

4 out of the 5 have been identified.  I assume the 5th was the pilot?

I would assume so, Kobe, daughter, daughter's teammate, teammate's dad were the four I heard. Pilot should be number 5.

They’re saying 9 are dead now. Some may have been on the ground.

There is absolutely nothing that can happen in the world without Trump somehow making himself the center of controversy. Trump incredibly plagiarized Obama’s condolences tweet about Kobe.

Obama wrote: Kobe was a legend on the court and just getting started in what would have been just as meaningful a second act. To lose Gianna is even more heartbreaking to us as parents. Michelle and I send love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day.

2 hours later, Trump wrote: Kobe Bryant, despite being one of the truly great basketball players of all time, was just getting started in life. He loved his family so much, and had such strong passion for the future. The loss of his beautiful daughter, Gianna, makes this moment even more devastating. Melania and I send our warmest condolences to Vanessa and the wonderful Bryant family. May God be with you all!

And now everyone is calling him on it.

Jesus H Christ - this is ridiculous. Not defending Trump, but I said basically the same exact thing an hour before Obama tweeted it. Does that mean he plagiarized me by listening to me through my Alexa device? I mean, it’s a common thing to say when a guy retires at 38 and then begins his second career as a businessman, philanthropist, father, mentor, etc. And that’s also not a knock on Obama - but some moron on CNN said the same thing before it was reported that he said it. People need to focus on what is meaningful - a pretty damn good human being who was also a basketball player died today, along with his daughter, who was on track to potentially be even better than her father. And there were seven other good people that tragically passed in the accident, including an extremely accomplished amateur baseball coach. This tragic accident left a lot of families broken forever, and people are going to use it to push their anti-Trump agendas? These people deserve to get assfucked with a barbed wire baseball bat for three days.

I never met Kobe Bryant or his family, yet I have been sick to my stomach all night over this one. And yeah, that’s probably ridiculous. But as a husband and a father, things like this hit closer to home than they used to.
