This is another "what if" like the Jordan/Brady thread. If you can change one moment in sports history what would it be. It doesn't have to be monumental at all. For example, one of mine would be that Jack Hamilton throws Tony Conigliaro a slow curveball on August 18,1967. Or that the Yankee Stadium grounds crew closed ALL the drainage pipes on October 5,1951 where Mickey Mantle tore up his knee during the second game of the World Series. A healthy Mantle may have had stats that would still stand to this day. Another one would be the 1976-77 New York Nets had a peak Julius Erving and Nate Archibald together for a full season instead of Boe having to sell Julius in order to get into the NBA.So tell me yours. Any sport, any time. I know Kargol will probably say something about the 1962 Surrey cricket team. But that's ok. All are welcome.

Man, you picked really good ones. I’m going opposite direction, as yours would change guys for the good of their career. Mine is the fucking Tuck Rule game. If Woodson’s strip sack and recovery stands, the Raiders win the Super Bowl against the Rams, and Brady goes back to being Drew Bledsoe’s backup. That would have probably ended the Brady era before it started, and probably gets Belichick fired by 2005.

I would probably use my power to save Dale Earnhardt's life.

Some more....

-Bruiser Brody misses his wake up call for his flight to Puerto Rico on July 16,1988.

-Herb Score pitched Gil McDougald low and away.

-Daryl Stingley runs his pattern on the weak side against the Raiders

-Terrific crowds and TV deals keep the AFL and the ABA going strong to this day.

Owen Hart enters the ring normally at Over the Edge instead of the stupid way that was foisted on him by Vincent Cocksucker McMahon.

And since the Cubs went without winning for so long would things have Bern different had they been more patient with Lou Brock?

That is a good one. Maybe Ken Hubbs decides to take the bus right in the same era.

The Yankees turn that double play on Jay Bell in the 9th inning of the 2001 WS against the DBacks. That’s right, fuck Dale Earnhardt.  2001 is the only one I’ve ever wanted back. I don’t even care about that time the Yankees blew the 3-0 lead to Boston and Boston went on to win the WS. That was good for baseball and it had to go down like that eventually. But 2001 was a killer and it sucks that that dynasty couldn’t put the finishing touches on one last ring.

Not a Yankees fan as you know, but I thought seeing them win it in 2001 after all of the 9/11 stuff would had been legendary on a lot of different levels. Also, fuck Arizona for winning the World Series in the 4th year of existence.

No one remembers this now, but Arizona played explosions over the PA system during the celebration and DBacks employees were making 9/11 jokes. And no one got fired. Shows how much things can change in 20 years.

1990 NFL season. Roger Craig doesn't fumble while trying to run out clock Vs Giants. Niners threepeat in SuperBowl.

Dumbfuck Dusty Baker leaves Russ Ortiz in game leading 5-0 of game 6 of 2002 World Series.

Niners run the ball from the 3 yrd line instead of having Kaepernick trying to complete a pass.

Leading by 10 Shanahan runs the ball in the 4th quarter with Deebo Samuel with jets sweeps vs the Chiefs.

Wayne Gretzky doesn't get hit from hehind & suffers a back injury that shortens his career.
Bobby Orr doesn't injure his knees.

Here's an off field/ice moment I would change.

At the last moment, the Blackhawks decide NOT to trade Espo, Hodge, Stanfield to the Bruins.

Eddie Colquhoun doesn't wreck Trevor Francis' knee in 1974. Blues would almost certainly have won the Cup that year, could have had a shot at the League, would have had a great shot at Europe, we wouldn't have needed to sell him, we wouldn't have been relegated &c &c.
