If I read between the lines correctly, the owners are calculating players salaries with nobody in the stands and passing the lost dollars back to the players.

Unbelievable.

Somewhere, Charles Comiskey is rubbing his hands together gleefully as he makes Shoeless Joe Jackson fetch him annother pink margarita.

Fuck those overpaid whiners. All athletes and any sports team owner for that matter. They are all full of shit.

No MLB  pitcher should be making a million dollars a game pitched.

Scrap all contracts and make player wages performance based.

Let them all rot. Haven't still missed any sports ( even though I'm somewhat intrigued about the NHL Playoffs).

Baseball doesn't need a bailout. This is just the same tired old pissing match over who gets more.

As usual, they are getting it wrong and the Commissioner is not doing anything to fix it.

I couldn't care less in the season is canceled. I'm following Baseball-Ref's 2020 simulation. Pete Alonso leads the majors in homers with 21 while Vlad Jr. leads the AL with 20.

By the time they figure it out, if they do at all, it will be too late for a meaningful season. We could have spring training games starting on Monday if they could get their heads out of their asses, and ratings would probably be better than they have been for years.

The weird thing about all this is that all the time it seemed that North American sports was all lot more about socialism (drafts, no relegation, caps) and European sports was a lot more about capitalism.
Have there been any attempst to help the lower divisions in baseball?

Baseball has never had more parity. Different teams have basically wound up in the World Series almost every year for 20 years now, and there are worst to first stories every year.

To save money major league teams have begun to release minor league players.

Tons of them.  And Eric Church was NOT happy.   He posted a blistering diatribe against the Mets organization today, and got in some digs at Tim Tebow in the process.

The releasing of minor league players suggests the teams are legit scared and doesn't bode well for the future

Is there 'one level too many' of minor leagues? I have no clue, just asking.
