I have a cousin who grew up an avid Browns fan.  In fact, some of us even called him Bernie during the Kosar era.  After the Browns had decamped for Baltimore, I remember a mutual uncle asking him how his Sundays were.  He answered that his Sundays were better than ever as he had no trumped up stresses and frustrations.  He went outside and got things done around his house without worrying about what was happening on the boob tube.

I wonder what's going to happen to the various human flea circuses once business returns to normal?  How many fans will they have hemorrhaged because those people simply figured out that there's more to life than sportsball?  I really don't know because, despite some dips, during the Kaepernick imbroglio many normie whites still couldn't wean themselves from from their ESPN fix.  Will the one-two punch of Wuhan Flu and the stridently political bent of big-time sports do the trick?

I have been a huge hockey fan for my entire life but at this point I have little to no desire to watch the NHL.  Some of that is personal evolution, but this spring has only highlighted how frivolous sports can be.  Couple that with the league going out of its way to intimate that I'm a bad person, and I could walk away today and feel no regrets.  I like sports, I like watching sports.  I'm entertained watching neighborhood kids playing whiffle ball or street hockey, but professional sports are pretty much dead to me at this point and all in all I think that's a good thing.

I'll still watch. Kid is out of the house. Wife, once things get back in gear, will be back on the road 1/3-1/2 the year. I work a weekend program so only Sat/Sun. I have 5 days off a week, with a lot of that time having the house to myself with no schedule. I gotta occupy myself somehow.

For the most part I gave up on sports a few years ago. I maybe watched 6-7hrs of football last year.

Every once in awhile I’ll go on a stretch where I will watch a few football or hockey games on YouTube from the 80’s and then be done for a few months.

This is a fairy tale post because you're personally upset that all the sports leages made #BLM posts this week and you're throwing a temper tantrum. You can't seriusly believe that sports is dead because of this.

I think sports will be hurt across the board. I could give a shit about doing fantasy football anymore. Granted I was on this path pre-covid but now....eh I am out. My will to watch the nfl has evaporated.

College football is similar. Not even excited about all things LSU. I dunno....

I am a huge baseball fan and miss it, but have plenty to do.
Greed plus a worthless Commissioner ruined it.

Settle down, Wormser.  I didn't say they're dead, in fact I said that the Kaepernick situation proves that most normies are all talk when they say they'll quit watching pro sports.  Judging by the spelling mistakes in your post, I'm going to assume you were half in the bag when you wrote this, so I'm going to give you a Mulligan.

I don't miss any of it. I'm pretty much done with all sports. Better things to do in my life now to be honest than watch them..

It's more about the breaking of the "seasonal" barrier for me. I don't think I'll be super interested in hockey restarting in, say, July. If a new season starts up in the winter then I may pay attention, but my own interest in most sports has waned in the last few years before all this, at least to the level I used to be into it.

This has a lot to do with it for me even with baseball.  Hypothetically if they started on August 1, it just wouldn't feel the same.
I've been catching up on reading books and watching movies in the evenings without being bogged down with sports.  Still have a ton of wrestling discs to get to also.  It's a nice break from being emotionally invested in current sports.  Admittedly I've even watched some old games on YouTube and enjoyed going back in time.
To answer the question, I don't miss them and probably won't for awhile.

Pretty much this. At first I was missing hockey because the Winnipeg Jets were on a roll and finally playing as a cohesive unit and ready to maybe go deep come playoff time.

I was looking forward to CFL camps starting with the Bombers being the defending Grey Cup champs.

For the rest I haven't paid any attention really to basketball in a long time and baseball when on has been mainly background noise as I do other things.  Not really sure what I'm going to feel about the NFL when it returns.
I do miss EPL. Liverpool was having a season for the ages.

We can bring a tv out onto the deck where we are much of the summer and if I watch any of the Stanley Cup Playoffs if they happen it will only be Jet games for as long as they are in really.

Pretty much over time I have 'outgrown' them (I got old) except for the NFL

Other than the NFL and College Football, I can take or leave everything else. Hockey and Basketball in August and the World Series on Thanksgiving are going to be weird if it happens.
