Opinions of what this ref was thinking?  Was this posted on this board already?

He clearly squared up to hit the player.  He easily could've avoided contact.  That was intentional without a doubt.

Well, it will make Spurrier, the biggest whiner in college sports, even more paranoid so I think it's funny.
But it did look intentional.  I'd love to see it from another angle to see if the intent appears to be the same.

I saw it live. From this angle, it looks intentional. On TV it didn't. Not to mention that this seems to be in slow motion.

Garcia would not have scored on the play. There was a big LSU linebacker right behind the umpire. I'm also pretty sure they scored on this drive anyway on fourth down.

Likewise, whatever makes Spurrier more paranoid is fine with me. I honestly think he'll resign after this year.

This has been the main topic of conversation today on Mike Francesa's show.  The y're outraged that the SEC is sweeping this under the rug and said he did nothing wrong.  This umpire is one of the first black players in the area and is now 60 and there's speculation that they're protecting him and even that he was having flashbacks of his playing career or even that he's suffering from dementia.
