It doesn't seem to take much to get a vote for this thing either.

The writer Corky Simpson also voted for known steroid user Matt Williams but didn't vote for Mark McGwire due to the steroid allegations. Simpson has a lifetime HOF vote.

Everything that needs to be said about this moron has already taken place with the long list of comments under his article.

Jesus Christ, it's just brutal over there.  Not even one person (and I read the first 50 or so comments) defends him.  I guess this article explains why his name is Corky.  While the selection of Matt Williams over Rickey gets most of the attention, I'm more baffled by the selection of Raines over Rickey since they're more comparable players.  This asshole writes that he voted for Raines because he was a one time batting champ and 4-time stolen base champ.  Just saying that out loud it's obvious how that pales in comparison to what Rickey did.

Raines was also a coke head.

Didn't Raines go through a period where he would only slide head-first so as to not damage his stash in his pocket?

Might also have something to do with his nickname of "Rock".

It's obvious that Henderson and McGwire personally offended this douche in some way, while Raines and Williams patted him on the head and complimented his flannel shirt or something.  It can't have anything to do with steroids/drugs.  These things often turn into a popularity contest (see Rice, Jim).
