Who do you think is the most overrated baseball player ever? I go with Joe DiMaggio.

Duke Snyder.  He got mentioned in the DiMaggion/Mayes conversation and that's a joke.

Why would you say that Gary Carter is overrated? He was the best catcher of his era in my opinion. He was an 11 time All-Star and won two All-Star MVPs. He was a three time Gold Glover and five time Sliver Slugger Award winner.

My choice would be Dale Murphy.

As a Yankee fan, even I have to admit that Phil Rizzuto deserves this award.

I think some others are:
Lee Smith-stats are way more than his actual body of work-look at Kerry Collins about to pass Joe Montana for passing yards!

The Steroid boys: Barry big head Bonds-absolute lock to make it before he even started juicing in 1999.  He is a fool.
Sammy Sosa-would never be anywhere near the hall if not for roids
Ivan Rodriguez/Eddie Munster=surefire HOF'er but had to do the juice
Raffy Palmeiro-see Sammy Sosa
Mark McGwire-had the power (49 hrs as a beanpole rookie) but that wasn't enough.
A-Fraud-I dislike him as much as the rest of you.  He's a douche, and I'm pretty sure he's done it his entire career.  He's way too big too young to be doing what he's doing.
Jose Canseco-probably the most dis-honest player and most honest ex-player.  He was right about A-Fraud, wasn't he.  I believe him when he talks now.

And the rest of those steroid fuckers....  I really am not into baseball at all this year.

It may just be bitter memories of having his smug self crammed down my throat constantly by the LA media when I first moved out here - but I'll say Steve Garvey.

Just wondering...why do you choose Dale Murphy?

He is a 2 time  LEAGUE MVP, 8 time allstar,  5 time gold glove, and 4 time silver slugger award winner

I'm thinking of how good Dale Murphy would be if he had anyone to help protect him in the batting order from 1984-90.

To me Vladimir Guerrero has never been as good as advertised.
