Clemens files a defamation lawsuit against his former trainer just hours after the 60 minutes interview last night. What do you guys think about it? I still think Clemens is lying.

Either he's tumbling further down the rabbit hole or he "didn't know" what he was getting injected with.

Eh..none of them went THIS hard back at the press and are going to the lengths he is to clear his name...he still probably did them, but if you didn't THIS is how you go about clearing your name..filing the lawsuit, saying he WILL go in front of congress..he either didn't do them, or he's just so blind with rage that people found out that he's digging his own grave...I just can't fathom that he would be that stupid though..

Clemens seems like the kind of guy who will deny any wrongdoing even if Jesus testified seeing him shoot up. The argument that a professional athlete wouldn't be fully aware of what was being put in his body is laughable.

Clemens' press conference was unreal. Now he's taping conversations? In some states, that's illegal unless both parties are aware. I take it that Texas ain't one of those states.

The public has been lied to so often by players, owners, coaches - that anyone accused is now automatically assumed guilty in the public's eyes. Interesting thought - with illegal drugs, usually the supplier/dealer is the one that faces the harshest consequences. Not with baseball. Gut hunch is that proving things will be difficult and (I do think Clemens is lying) but this is another effort by him to "create doubt". Which is what I would be doing if I was him.

From USA Today, WASHINGTON — The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has rescheduled depositions and interviews of the four of the five people that are scheduled to testify before the committee Feb. 13. Former infielder Chuck Knoblauch, who has been issued a subpoena but hadn't been served as of Wednesday evening, is scheduled to appear before the committee Tuesday in Washington, according to a statement released by the committee Thursday. Knoblauch is to be followed by New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte on Wednesday, pitcher Roger Clemens on Feb. 5 and trainer Brian McNamee on Feb. 7. The committee said it continues to work out a date for former New York Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski. The committee, chaired by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., scheduled a hearing after former senator George Mitchell released his report on illegal performance-enhancing drugs in baseball in December. Mitchell, along with Commissioner Bud Selig and players union executive director Don Fehr, testified before the committee earlier this month. Radomski and McNamee were key witnesses in the Mitchell Report. McNamee told Mitchell he had injected Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone in 1998, 2000 and 2001 when Clemens played with the Toronto Blue Jays and Yankees. Clemens denies using banned substances and has filed a defamation suit against McNamee.
