Not one post on it yet. This is Election Day after all. I got up 20 minutes early so I could vote before work and that was 18 minutes earlier than I needed to get up. I walked right in and right out. The only other person there was an old guy wearing a T-shirt that said "Impeach Nixon - I Don't Care if He's Dead!"
In NY it's not even a race as Bloomberg goes for his 3rd term asgainst Bill Thompson, whose own family probably doesn't recognize him. In a Democratic state Thompson is still anonymous and has no chance of winning. Bloomberg completely outspent him and I can barely remember seeing 3 Thompson ads all year. The only votes he'll get are from people just voting for "the other guy" because Bloomberg comes across as arrogant and people are upset that he changed the term limits and is running yet again. But Bloomberg doesn't take any heat for the economic situation since that's a national issue and NY is in a lot better shape than some states despite Wall Street's collapse, and crime is at record lows despite the high unemployment.
I voted for Libertarian Joseph Dobrian, who will no doubt receive stiff competition among third party candidates from "The Rent is Too Damn High Party" candidate.
I crossed party lines and voted for Christie in NJ. I stayed Democratic locally, though it didn't matter because the scumbag Republicans in control of Middletown stayed in control. They are the worst fucking politicians ever.
