I watched The Descent last night.  I was not into this flick.  I had trouble understanding what in the hell they were saying.   The ending was left open for interpretation.

I think that movie would be better if you watched it on the big screen.

As for the ending, the director had placed the 'downer' ending as a 'sign' that as far as his vision was concerned, he had completed it.  Hollywood got him to do the 'brighter'???? (If you seen it, you'll know what I mean) ending to open the door for the sequel.

Did the main character kill all the other women?  I took it that she flipped out and killed the others.

(Marshall's intended version)

No.  She just had her problems after that event at the beginning of the film is all.  Those pills she left at the cabin were anti-depressants I believe, and after all that happened, she basically just gave in and let that illusion of her daughter at the end envelope her psyche.   In Hollywood's version, the film ended at the end of the scene in the truck.  At that time, they didn't want the film to end on the obviously depressing note at the very end of the film.

See, I took it that the crawling things were not real, and she was the one who ended up killing all those people.  I looked it up on IMBD and it says that there are others who believe that she killed them all.  There was no sequel planned at that point.

Originally they weren't supposed to be real.  As a matter of fact in the first draft, he has one of them in the hospital where she was recovering after that car wreck in the beginning.

Vanishing on 7th St.  - WTF?   I do not know where to begin with this one.  I got the basic plot, but it did not put it all together at the end.

Yellow Brick Road
- It was okay.  Somewhat weird at the end.  It seemed like this could have been a good movie, but something was left out.  Not enough drama?  It tried to go deep too fast.

I'm kinda wondering about the end myself.  I've only watched it once so maybe I should see it again before I comment on what "I believe" as far as the end goes but I do have a general theory.

Yellow Brick Road - This is purely a pick by my old lady.  I haven't watched it yet, myself.

Just got done attempting to watch 'House By the Cemetary' but wasn't successful.  Not saying it was bad for what it was.  Just didn't bother finishing it.
