Ahhh, AGAIN, you write it better than I ever could, exactly my thoughts too.

Quit channeling.   It creeps me out.

Sorry GW, this is all I could find when "channeling" into your mind a moment ago. Fortunately they were no where's close to my thoughts at the time.

I think I better just stick to "chanaggling" rossi for the time being.

**edit* Bob I wanted to ask also, is the whole first season filmed yet? How many episodes do they plan on showing for the season?

I haven't watched it yet. I was going to watch it this afternoon but got called in for a fitting for an A & W commercial I'm shooting next week. Nothing special - just a guy chowing down on one of their fine delicious burgers.

I just checked my voucher and the last day I worked on Alcatraz ( November 26th ) we split the day between Episodes 7 and 8. They only worked a few more days before wrapping things up for the holidays so they might not have even finished Episode 8 yet. I heard that because of Abrams being hot right now that FOX commited to either 12 or 14 episodes which is higher than most new 1 hour shows get a commitment for.

Just a quick update - I worked on Friday and it was Day 1 of shooting for Episode 10. Easy day for me as I was there for 11.8 hours ( we go by 6 minute increments ) and did nothing but lie in bed reading in a jail cell and then pretending to sleep in the prison infirmary.

Are they really filming parts at the actual alcatraz or is it mostly a recreation?

As far as I know everything except for some generic exterior shots of the prison has been shot here in Vancouver.

Some of it really looked like SF to me.  That's hard to recreate given how hilly it is, so that's a great job if they weren't on location.

I'll be honest - I still haven't watched the first 2 shows yet. I will probably do so tonight after the NFL games are over. While Vancouver does have some hilly streets I agree that it would be very hard to recreate those crazy streets of San Francisco.

Those may also be stock shots as well, which is what they used when they filmed Blues Brothers 2000 in Vancouver as well.

Nah, there were 2 actors talking while walking along this really steep street.  I don't know Vancouver so maybe they have some streets like that, but this sure looked like SF.

Not good, but decent.  They really need to reveal some new clues every week regarding this time warp mystery otherwise it becomes nothing but an extremely average network cop show.  And that's what it was tonight.

Well I finally managed to watch the first 2 episodes and I like it so far. I was actually seen twice in the 2nd episode - both times in the prison yard just before a bunch of prisoner beat up the guy that was killing the kids. By the way - srossi was right as they did shoot a lot of exterior stuff in San Francisco for the pilot. But from what i understand - outside of some exterior shoots of or around the the prison everything else will be shot in Vancouver. It looks like the ratings have been good but not spectacular for the first 2 weeks ( http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/01/24/alcatraz-ratings-bachelor/ ) so hopefully it continues to keep viewers interested and want to keep watching every week.
