Okay, I am not talking about a bad movie that you have seen, although a bad movie may fit in this category.

I want to know if you have ever watched a movie and was left totally clueless as to the plot of the enitre movie.  I know there are a lot of instances in which the ending takes a weird twist or let's the viewer decide the actual outcome in their mind, but I am talking about movies that you just did not get.  After the movie was over, you were left saying, "What the hell was that about?"

The one movie that pops into my mind immediately is Mullholland Drive.  I have watched it from beginning to end twice, and I just cannot understand what the plot is in that movie.  Maybe I am trying to interpret things too much, but I am still totally lost with that movie.

The movie Head starring the Monkees was way out there, also.

Feel free to add your own or even explain the plots to the ones that are listed.

I'm going to get a lot of flack for this, but
"2001: A Space Odessy" had me leaving the theatre shaking my head,
trying to figure out what it was all about. Visually, it was a great film
and I liked the music, but holy fuck. Others in the theatre had similar
sentiments, so I wasn't the only one.

Every David Lynch movie is like that.  Mulholland Drive is a lot more mainstream and easy to understand than something like Lost Highway.  But I love Lynch movies even if it takes years of thought and interpretation to figure out what the hell it was about.

Easy to understand?

Can you enlighten me on Mullholland Drive?  Was it Pandora's Box being opened during the theater scene?

Well it's less abstract than Lost Highway and some of his other films but that doesn't make it easy to understand compared to most films.  It's been years since I've seen Mulholland Drive so honestly I can't remember much about it.  There are tons of sites out there that try to interpret his movies though if you want to Google it.

The Royal Tennenbaums or however you spell it.  Didn't care for it the entire time I spent watching it but didn't turn it off because I thought something had to eventually happen....it didn't.

Wes Anderson movies suck.  You didn't miss anything.

He just tries hard to be subtle in his funny, and it just never works, IMO.
