"The UFC women’s bantamweight champion has been tapped to star in a reboot of the 1980s action flick “Road House.”

According to Variety.com, Rousey was “passionately pursuing the project for some time.” MGM is moving forward on the project and currently meeting with writers for the script, according to the report.

The 28-year-old, who’s appeared in past films such as “Furious 7” and “The Expendables 3,” will actually play the role Patrick Swayze made famous in the original 1989 film.

Rousey later confirmed the news and said it’s an “honor” and that she hopes it’ll serve as a tribute to Swayze, who died in 2009 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, and his family (via Twitter):"

Kill me now please. This movie should not be tarnished in any way. Are they going to get Jonah Hill to play Brad Wesley? Jeff Hardy would be great in the Terry Funk role. There is no hope for this country.

Rousey is a perfect example of how if you repeat something enough times, eventually people will start to believe it until it becomes a reality--namely with this whole, "Rhonda Rousey is Beautiful" campaign that has been shoved down our throats for the last year plus.

Now granted, Rousey might be considered gorgeous in comparison to, say, certain waitresses in certain highway truck stops. But as far as the general population goes...well, to put it in terms the IWC understands, I'd rank her a lot closer to a Matilda the Hun than a Trish Stratus.

Ridiculous casting.  She only bears a passing resemblance to Darren Dalton.

She's starting to look more like Jack Dalton (aka Don Fargo)
