Last night at Hammerstein Ballroom, Marilyn Manson attempted to climb up on a giant gun prop that was part of the set. The prop fell on him, knocking him unconscious and causing him to be stretchered out of the building and to the hospital. No word on the extent of the injuries. Manson was about 10 songs into a 15-song show and singing “Sweet Dreams”.  Obviously the rest of the tour is in jeopardy. I was supposed to see him as one of 3 co-headliners next weekend at the Rock Allegiance Festival right outside of Philly, but I doubt he’ll be there now so it’ll be interesting to see what they do. I’ve never seen Manson live and I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

Clearest video I've seen of it.  Fast forward to the 2 minute mark.

Manson has cancelled his next 9 shows so I am indeed going to miss him this weekend, and it's too late for the festival to get a replacement.

A lot of people are saying that but his shows were selling well and my mother-in-law works in entertainment insurance and underwrites a lot of tours and it's no joke to have to cancel multiple dates.  Given the fact that album sells are non-existent these days and musicians make their money from touring and merch sales, there is no possible way Manson could think he'd profit from a stunt like this, even in the unlikely event that it did sell a few more albums.  Besides, he had fallen off the stage the night before and mistakenly claimed he broke his ankle, so I don't know if he needed to stage 2 injuries in a row.  I think more likely he's having a rough patch with the drugs and booze again, causing him to stumble around (and off) the stage doing stupid shit.  If he's not really injured as badly as they're saying, they could be trying to get him clean.

Well I don't think it would have to be that heavy...the fall itself and that prop landing on him x physics and gravity (I suck at math) and all that could potentially mess anyone up.

I suck at math too but I'm pretty sure that there's a z in this equation, which might or might not be heroin.

So this also wound up being the last show for Twiggy Ramirez as Manson fired him today for rape allegations from 20 years ago.
