Lather, rinse, repeat. Same shit, different venue. Honestly, I am not sure this guy could have been stopped. Trump was "empathetic" which means that within 24 hours or less he will blow it all to Hell with a series of stupid tweets.

I believe in the 2nd amendment but the 2nd amendment also guarantees the right to bear arms within the frame work of a well regulated militia. It was written that way because we had no real military at that time and the pols were worried about both Great Britain and France. I had several firearms but sold them (legally) to a gun dealer since my eyesight isn't good enough anymore.

Oh well, I am resigned to the fact that this will just go on and on and on and everyone will have the exact same talking points they had before and will have forever.

It was primarily written that way as a defense against our own government should it ever become too corrupt, actually.  That's something modern-day Republicans usually miss.  We don't have a second amendment to protect from a random thug, although it's helpful there too.  It's actually designed to help the common man band together to kill government officials and the cops that enforce their laws if they try to take away our freedoms.

The militia argument is so flawed.

Semi-automatics aren't going to do shit against tanks, mortars and such.

I give up. They didn't write "well regulated militia". The words just magically appeared in the script. My last post on this.

"Well regulated militia"

I understand.  That's what a militia is.  A civilian army who often engage in rebellious activity or band together for an emergency.  It's the very definition.

So do you think we should be allowed to buy anti tank weapons?

Death toll up to 58.

I don't want to live in fear, but I guarantee the people in Vegas never thought it would happen to them either.

The grossest part is I'm seeing folks on Twitter and FB that are questioning or trying to de-ligitimize eye-witness accounts.

Would change much really because if someone wants to get a gun they'll get a gun, maybe open a bank account or something but this " right to bear arms " shit is a big part of the problem.

People with two brain cells playing tag and a hair trigger are walking around carrying weapons like they were carrying a slurpee.

What are the eye-witness accounts that they are trying to de-legitimize?  I don't have a political dog in this fight, I'm just curious.

Trump was using cue cards. that's the only time he talks any sense. when he talks without them then he goes brain dead and says stupid and classless things. The NRA are big Trump supporters so nothing will be done here by Trump.
