LOS ANGELES – Actor Kevin Spacey said Sunday he is “beyond horrified” by allegations that he made sexual advances on a teen boy decades ago.
Spacey posted on Twitter that he doesn’t remember the encounter. “But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years,” he said.

In an interview with BuzzFeed , actor Anthony Rapp said Spacey befriended him while they both performed on Broadway shows. Rapp was 14 when he attended a party at Spacey’s apartment in 1986, he said. At the end of the night, an inebriated Spacey picked him up, placed him on his bed, and climbed on top of him, Rapp said.

Rapp said the 26-year-old was holding him down tightly, but he was able to get away and left the apartment.
Rapp, who is now 46 and starring in the TV show “Star Trek: Discovery”, said he came forward after allegations against Harvey Weinstein sparked conversations about sexual abuse and harassment in the entertainment industry.
Spacey, who is now 58, spoke publicly about his sexual orientation for the first time Sunday on Twitter.
“As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women,” he said. “I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man.”
Spacey, who has fiercely protected his private life, had never disclosed his sexuality before but said Rapp’s story encouraged him to speak.
“I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behaviour,” he said.

I'm already so over this #MeToo bullshit.  Not everyone who got hit on by a drunk was sexually abused.  If you're going to wait more than a week to talk about something short of actual rape, STFU.  I don't want to hear anymore stories about how 30 years ago your boss told you you had nice tits at the office Christmas party and you've been scarred for life ever since.

On the bright side, now that Spacey has come out I consider him to officially be our first gay President, so we're clearly becoming more tolerant as a country and good for us.

Eh...climbing on top of a 14 year old and trying to fuck him is a little more than flirting at a Christmas party..

This.  What bullshit this has become now.  I get it that there are some assholes in the world.  However, they not think that they were "abused"if someone tried to pick them up.  Some are clearly just making shit up now.  Grade B celebs desperately trying to be relevant on social media.

If he wanted to rape him, he would've.  He put him on the bed and made a move.  I'm sure the whole "climbing on top" of him thing lasted 10 seconds if that.  He was drunk and got aggressive and the kid left and Spacey let him leave.  As far as I'm concerned, that's Spacey giving up when he said "no".  I'm sure it's not Spacey's finest moment.  You shouldn't be hitting on teens.  But that's all it was and let's not try to turn this into attempted rape.  We live in the real fucking world where 99% of us would not survive the scrutiny of a current celebrity, so let's not get all high and mighty.  I guarantee you anyone on this board in their early 20s when drunk did all sorts of things that today could easily be manipulated to sound like sexual assault by adding some colorful language to the incident.  And everyone here knows it.

If that was the case then literally every man that has ever taken a drink is a sexual abuser. And it seems to be trending that way, scarily enough.
...does women getting drunk and hitting on guys count too? Oh wait, I have probably just committed some sort of racist/sexist/mental assault on womankind, Apologies in advance. :(

Also since being gay is supposed to be a normal thing now, are these news outlets reporting when someone announces they are gay committing some sort of discrimination?

Unless they also put out stories about people coming out as "straight" too, I believe this is true.

If you have sex with a drunk woman, even if you are also drunk, there absolutely is precedent for her to call it rape if she regrets it in the morning.  On college campuses, even if you don't get arrested, this is pretty much an expulsion.  You are simply not allowed to have sex anymore with someone whose judgement might be impaired.  This has been the case for a good 5 years now.  But if the guy is drunk and the woman is sober, well equality only goes so far.  I've never heard anything about that.

I have to say that Spacey's move in this case is complete bullshit as well. He has always maintained a "guy sexuality is my business" stance right up until he is accused. Now he is a proud gay man all of a sudden?

Yeah but in this case its a 14 year old boy. Underage kid. its disgusting. if it was a 14 year old girl would people be more offended??? its bad either way. Hopefully Spacey is done after this. they need to weed out the slime in Hollywood. Not just in Hollywood but in general.
