Here is how I see Trump's meeting with the tin, toy soldier going.
"Great guy.  Really misunderstood.  Going to get rid of nukes".
He hails the the triumph.  We do what we have always done.  Give him billions and he pockets all of it and then starts testing Nukes again within a year or so.
I actually liked Trump's approach to this guy before because I know diplomacy won't work in the end.  It won't work now either but that has to play out.

I read some comments on Fox News' Facebook post about this yesterday and it really is frightening what a different world they live in. Hundreds of comments about Trump being proved right and being the savior of America and really creepy God-like praise being heaped on him. This of course combined with the usual "If Obama was still president he would've just handed the country over to him" comments, followed by hysterical laughter and lots of emojis from everyone else as if this was the most original comment ever.

I don't know what Kim's angle is here, but this is a guy to really be concerned about.  And I absolutely agree that after a little ass-kissing, Trump is going to walk out of that meeting with a huge smile on his face saying, "You know, Rocket Man has some great ideas and is a really strong leader, and no one knows more about strong leaders than me.  We need to make America a lot more like North Korea."  And then every Trump supporter is going to be like, "Hell yeah, I always loved North Korea.  Great country."

Absolutely nothing could possibly go wrong with this meeting. Nothing.

It's the first time they've reached out to a sitting president. That certainly has to say something.

Yeah...they think they're smarter than him and his staff and can get one over on them.

Yup.  I mean, that's painfully obvious to everyone, isn't it?  They're not trying diplomacy because they think they're going to lose the negotiations.

They have the dotard on the line now. $billions and billions will be given and we will be right back where we started. They have been trying to get a meeting with a POTUS forever. That is not new. It validates their regime.

I can't ever be pro when it comes to communists. If there are major concessions in our favor due to the sanctions, one would have to admit that this is a big accomplishment. Of course, the people who suffer from TDS will manage to give the credit to Obama.

BTW - I was not pro-Obama.  Plenty of posts here that would confirm that.

Meeting with Trump is a win on its own for Kim Jong Un. He gets a sit down one to one with the U.S. President as an equal minus any conditions. That said, if somehow this sign of respect means something to getting relations thawed and North Korea less aggressive, so be it. I forget the circumstances and exactly what was said, but in the early 2000s Kim Jong Il and North Korea were getting particularly noisy and prone to combativeness. The Bush administration made some sort of public statement calling on North Korea to knock off whatever was going on. Because of some particular wording, whether done intentionally or picked up on by Kim Jong Il and his staff inadvertently, North Korea took the statement as showing that nation and its Dear Leader respect and they actually backed down.

Maybe...just maybe the sanctions are working, or maybe this guy is actually afraid of Trump. Whatever the case is, this is certainly a win for Trump. I can't help to believe that there are so many people who are suffering from TDS that they're praying this turns ugly just to make our president look bad. The same people probably cringed when they saw the jobs report yesterday.
