My wife and I checked out the latest Star Wars movie Sunday morning and it did not disappoint. We were a little leery going in due to being unhappy with The Last Jedi and I feel like Solo is struggling at the box office because of this.

My thoughts...

Move is slow to start, but once Han meets up with Beckett and ultimately, Chewbacca, it really starts to take off. I was uncertain about Solo being fed to a beast, felling like I was seeing Luke and the Rancor again, but quickly forgot about the Rancor scene with a very satisfying Solo meets Chewbacca scene.

From there we get tons of easter eggs, first meet ups, cameos, cool looking costumes, action, adventure, I mean whats not to love. The humor was subtle and worked, unlike the Last Jedi which was more in your face and fell flat.

We got the answers to many questions that fans have been asking for years. How does Han meet Chewie? How does Han meet Lando? What is the Kessel Run? Instead of, "Your parents are nobodies." We were given real answers.

The movie sets up a sequel, and maybe even a trilogy.

Movie #2 - As Han and Chewie set off to Tatooine to presumably meet Jabba the Hutt, they cross paths with Greedo.

Movie #3 - The finally make it to Tatooine, meet Jabba, take a job, etc...

Final thoughts. Donald Glover was awesome as Lando. He even sounded like Lando and Holy Shit! That's Darth Maul. I thought he was dead.

you should probably put a spoiler on this because you just gave away a MASSIVE cameo there...

btw, I'm going to wait until it comes out on blu-ray before seeing it, I really don't feel this one and I'm a huge Star Wars geek. But this one, I really just don't care all that much..I really hope we don't get any kind of sequel to this one, once they get the next movie done and wrap up the original "9" movies I hope we don't see ANY more characters from any of the previous 11 movies..it's time to get away from that part of the galaxy and give us something new and fresh..

I thought it was a great movie and hope there is a sequel.
Way better than Last Jedi.

Its a shame that it did not do that good of opening. Should of stuck with a December Opening.

Maul was brought back in Clone Wars and Rebels.

Watched a sneak preview thursday and was pleasantly surprised, as the reviews seemed very poor, and the trailer wasnt anything special.
I assumed they were referring to Jabba a couple times and thought it would have been cooler if he was mentioned by name.
I didnt know the Dragon Queen was in the movie, until she was all dolled up. When she was a peasant, she was unrecognizable lol.
Loved when he met Chewy for the first time.
All the previews praised Lando, and yes he did have the voice identical, but I thought Han was better.

I thought it was just OK but I am not a big Star Wars fan.
Founf how he met Chewy and Lando interesting but rest of movie for me was blah. Didn't recognize Game of Thrones chick at all.

There already is a **SPOILERS** tag under the title.

I enjoyed the movie. Go see it if you're a Star Wars fan!

I'd like even more these movies.

Thought it was a great movie, lots of fun and didn't take itself too seriously. It's really just a fun heist movie set in space, and it's well worth a look. I also hope they do a sequel to it, as I think there's a lot of potential there.

A neighbor of mine wants to see this.  Only read the first few sentences where you said it is worthwhile.  Guess I will cave and go.

I thought it was great. I am really surprised it's getting such a negative reaction. It seems like many either went in with preconceived notions based on not liking The Last Jedi and/or hearing about the troubled production of Solo or fell into the fanboy trap of having their own idea of what the movie should be and then pushing back on what they got, regardless of quality.

I liked it a ton. The "lackluster" performance probably means no sequels which is a shame. I think Disney under estimated the staying power of Avengers as well as Deadpool 2 when they set a release date.
