This has devolved from things that are popular for reasons no one understands to people stating things they don't like that nevertheless have a basically understandable appeal.

My mother in law is staying with us at the moment and she was telling us about the tony awards. I said go for it and watch your little heart out, I’ll be outside in the pool.

I'll pile on the awards shows, especially since most celebrities now use them to try and push their political opinions on us.

I used to love the MLB game in the old days because there was so little national coverage of sports.  Being in an AL TV area it was great to see the NL Stars all on one stage.  Now with inter-league play and ESPN you can see every player often & the appeal is gone.  I don't think I've watched it since the tie, and I'm not sure I had watched much before that.
The NBA All-Star game was similar too due to limited inter-conference games.  It gave us a chance to see the Western Conference stars, but I haven't watched that in years either.

In baseball, the All-Star game and World Series had a bit of 'mystique' to them because you didn't see the NL play the AL.

Wish it would be back to the old way.

Coffee.Everyone I know drinks the damn stuff.  My co-workers think I'm an oddball because
I'm the only one in the office who doesn't drink coffee. "Lobo, how do you make it thru the day without  coffee ? "
I wish I had a dollar everytime someone asked me that.

James Corden. Left the UK because everyone hated his smug face and complete lack of comedy talent. Now a hugely popular talk-show host in the US and a Tony award winner. You can keep him.

I have completely lost track of late night TV.  I haven't watched any of them since Colbert's first week.  I couldn't be less interested in the whole lot of them.
