I'm really interested in any first-hand stories about how your life has changed since Trump:

Have you, or anyone close to you:

found employment after a period of unemployment?

been promoted or received a increase in pay?

profited from the increase in stock prices?

seen the value of your house increase?

been able to spend or save more money per month?

Any answers to the negative are also welcome.

I'm not trolling the right, I'm genuinely interested in real world changes to real people, rather than being told that things are generally "improving."

My life hasn't changed at all.  Not one extra dime, or one less dime, in the paycheck of my me or my wife.

The stock market goes up and down, that means nothing, but it would be higher without the tariffs dragging on it.  I'm mostly out of the market (other than retirement accounts anyway) and the point of me in Bitcoin and other cryptos is that it shouldn't be as affected by world governments.

Nothing has changed at all for me, but I wasn't really complaining before.

I had to laugh at one story I read yesterday where a Missouri Trump supporter's daughter-in-law was deported because she was an illegal Mexican who had a DUI 11 years ago.  The woman said she fully supported Trump's plan to deport illegals (with criminal records only) and that's why she voted for him...but she didn't think that applied to her daughter-in-law who clearly is not the same type of illegal criminal.  She now says she's "ashamed to be an American" and regrets supporting him.

They've run so many stories like this, and I know the news picks and chooses and in the grand scheme of things it's like 0.05% of his base, but these are real stories of really stupid people who voted for BECAUSE of what he would do to illegals who were shocked when family and friends who are illegal got busted.

I'm doing way better now financially.

Not sure that is 'Trump's doing' but the entire Obama terms were pretty bad for me.

My wife and I have held the same jobs with the same companies that we had prior to him getting elected

Pay went up, but it also went up every year prior, so no real difference there.

House value went up, but here in KC, that's due to the lack of new housing starts ( a negative) which has put pressure on the existing homes up for sale since the market tightened due to lower supply.

At work I do hear more "America First" bullshit, which I find amusing, since myself and my sister are both immigrants, "taking jobs away from Americans' When I point out that we have the jobs because we were better than the locals who either couldn't or wouldn't do the job they fumble around for a counterpoint.

There's also an uptick at work with people more openly dropping racist/anti semitic commentary than their was in the past. I've already nailed one of my coworkers for blatantly making anti semitic comments at me in the med room, while I had another RN in there with me. She was so stupid thinking it wouldn't come back on her, and is lucky she didn't get fired vs the 6 months probation she did get.

- I've been in the same job for almost 15 years. It's a great company to work for and our pay increases are pretty much the same each year. We're a nonprofit, so the tax law didn't really affect us.

- Like rossi, stocks fluctuate.

- My savings haven't been affected.

Not much change in my life; I received my annual raise like usual, home value is up slightly and my 401k is performing similar to last year.

Are people crediting Trump with rising home values?  This isn't necessarily a good thing and varies from market to market.  For example, where I am home values are soaring (and I also did a shit-ton of work to my house in a short amount of time and got it undervalued anyway because it was a foreclosure) so I've almost doubled my home value in 3 years.  But there are parts of Westchester where home values are stagnating or dropping, and have been for a while (they were overpriced to begin with) so I'm looking there.  I might be able to get into something bigger and get myself a better commute without anything additional down.  That's not because of Trump.  lol

My home value rose because we live in a desirable development; didn’t flood during big Harv and after the most recent school board meeting looks like will be zoned to the neighborhood high school even after all of the additional homes are built.

We’ve done 2 years of improvements and upgrades to the house and have a full slate of work lined up for the fall and winter all of which should continue to push the value up.

You're going to have to better than that.

My life is way different but I can’t attribute any of it to Trump or his policies. In fairness, I wouldn’t be able to attribute any of it to Hillary either. We moved from NC to TX last summer and both my wife and I are making considerable more money but that’s due to her promotion (the reason we moved) and TX paying teachers closer to the national average for me.

I have noticed the role reversal in my friends who differ politically. They are acting almost exactly opposite of when Obama was President. I guess when your guy is in the White House you want cooperation and civility and when your guy is not in the White House the guy who is is a traitor.

I think that's the way it should be.  The executive branch is already far more powerful than our Founding fathers envisioned, and it's very dangerous.  Someone's day-to-day life should not be that affected by who is president.  That was never the intent of the office.  George Washington would be horrified.
