Many of us on here will live out our stays on earth with the neocons in the majority. I am glad that I am older now, but they will sink this country to new lows. Corporations will be given decades to create and mold new laws that are beneficial to their well-being while the citizens will be see the standard of living drop further and things like the environment and citizen rights will be ravaged.

I do not say this because of a GOP majority. I would welcome that. These last few nuts appointed are bad news for the people.

If the accusations are true, then this is sickening shit. However, this guy has been a Federal judge of prominence for a very long time and no one came forward before? I thought the lady sounded credible but I cannot know for certain who is or isn't telling the truth. The fact that they waited this long disturbs me. People may not like this guys ultra conservative politics but tough shit, they lost the election. Presidents get to pick their judges and the Senate gets to confirm or not. That is the way it goes. When the Dems have full control, I fully suspect they will be nominating females 35 to 45 years old.

The essence that this is sour grapes over losing an election is bullshit.

Wrong. Obama had won the presidency and the GOP would not even consider the nomination of Merrick Garland. It is the duty of the sitting POTUS to fill the USSC seats. The GOP shit all over that with the move to not allow a sitting president to fill a judge seat.  That type of crap has not happened in almost 100 years and this was more blatant politicizing to squash Obama’s nomination.  The seat was vacant for 400 days!

From the outside, the bigger problem appears to be that this guy has clearly lied under oath during this hearing. Whether he did what is alleged doesn't really matter when you take that into account.

Politics is sleazy on both sides of the aisle. If the GOP would have confirmed Garland, there's a good chance that the bush Republicans wouldn't have voted for Trump. This would have all but guaranteed a Hillary victory. She then would have filled Kennedy's seat and the balance would be 6-3. I'm glad that didn't happen.

Hey, by all accounts, Garland seemed like a really decent guy. At least he wasn't dragged in the mud by baseless accusations. Yeah, these are nothing more than mere accusations that have no evidence. Sorry, but the "you don't know what it's like to be female" card isn't evidence. It's pure emotion that fairy Flake bought into.

Did I EVER say the GOP was right with that tactic?  No, I did not.  That was bullshit as well.

The key difference of course is that the D's did not control congress when Obama nomination Garland. Now, the R's do and, yea, tough shit. They will get the votes and he will be on the court imo. That is the way it goes. Elections matter.

Eventually this stuff just flips to the other side, and the Dems will fuck the GOP up the ass and use what's happened in the last 2 years to justify. So as we go back and forth with this through our lifetimes, real wages will continue to decline, consolidation of $$$ will move to a smaller %, and more Americans will realize how fucked they are when they figure out they can't retire till they die. Neither party will give a shit.

Nope.
Garland did not even get an up and down vote.   Elections mean nothing when a politicians circumvent the system like we saw with Garland and now Kavenaugh.  So, I totally disagree with your premise.
This current bullshit began with not even giving Garland a vote.
