This is random.  Want to get the little guy a new pair of headphones to use on his Kindle Fire for Christmas.   $100 or less, let’s say.  Literally I know nothing about this, but I see a lot of kids with the Beats headphones.  Is there a good quality brand out there for tweens?  Doesn’t have to be wireless.

JBL and Harmon Kardon are both better quality than Beats. Beats are not a bad set mind you, and if you can get them for a great price, go for it. Monster makes some really good ones too since they were all set up for this until they sold the Beats brand.

You are dealing with a kid - I say see if you can find out what his friends all have. Because if he's got five friends with Beats and you buy him JBL which are twice as good, they'll shit all over him because he doesn't have Beats.

If you are looking at $100 range headphones, you'll get some really decent ones for him.

That’s good to know. I walk over to the Marshalls and TJ Maxx at lunchtime and see literally 30 different brands. No idea what is good. Some are in the $30 range. Trust me, I’m ok with a $4 pair of earbuds myself, but he’s getting into music a bit so we thought this might be a cool gift. Not sure other kids even have headphones. We’re trying to stay ahead of the curve.

Look, loud car stereos in my youth and playing in a band on/off for the last 20 years have damaged my hearing (a LOT actually), so I can't really say a lot about this BUT...

Soundpeats bluetooth headphones, I've owned 3 pairs of these over the last 5 years, I broke the first pair, the other 2 I still have, one was my wife's, but these things are $25-$30 and sound AWESOME...hold a long charge, these things I'd put against any high dollar headphones...
