I dunno. Was putting together stiff for the girlfriend and realized it really is pretty hard to screw this up. Anyway, I guess it's been years since I even gave out an Easter basket but I was surprised at the compete hysteria everywhere I went and had to go multiple places to get everything.

Thought it was more or less a declining tradition.

Is it?

My son gets presents instead of a Easter basket. Less candy, the better.

When I was a kid, I had this friend who was catholic. So I was over at his place at Easter. His Dad had put out a bunch of chocolate eggs in the backyard. So we went out and found them the next morning. Well his cunt of a mother then comes down and tells me I have to give the ones I found back, because they were meant for my friend and his sister, not me. The father shook his head, obviously knowing he was married to twat (This is @ 1980, so you'r talking about $5-10 tops in these small chocolate eggs) He ended up slipping me a few bucks to go and buy some chocolate later, to make up for his wife acting so shitty.

My son’s 2nd birthday is tomorrow so it falls on Easter this year. Today we’re having his birthday party so I’m knee deep in all that stuff. It’s starting in an hour. Tomorrow we’ll give him his Easter basket and 2 more from the grandparents. We also took him on an Easter egg hunt last weekend where each egg had 2 Kisses in them. Most of those were for mommy and daddy. Most of the stuff from the baskets will be too. He only gets a few tastes of chocolate on special occasions at this point. Same with Halloween, the benefits of having a baby is you get most of the candy yourself for a few years.

My mom would stick an album I wanted in my basket when I was a teenager. I got Styx’s Equinox one year I remember for sure.

We do baskets for both kids and they still love it. They know better but they play along.

My mom did the Easter basket and egg hunt for many years for me. I usually got an empty basket, one toy on the table and then hunted for the large plastic eggs filled with candy. My maternal grandmother would come over in the afternoon with Easter plates, one for me and one for my parents covered in various candy.

He should have corrected that cunt right on the spot, in front of the kids.  Don't let them grow up thinking that's a proper way to behave.

My folks (age 71) actually still give Easter baskets. Just a buncha' candy, beef jerky and silly Dollar Tree crap.

Growing up, I remember Easter was like a mini-Christmas, where you were allowed to ask for one gift. One that could fit in your Easter basket with the other stuff. I typically got something in the $5-15 range, like a mini LEGO vehicle or some (80's) GI Joe figures.

My folks would also hide a dozen eggs around the house and we'd have to find them. A few years we'd only find 10 or 11. When we moved in 1984, I remember moving a bookcase and an old Easter egg rolled out from behind it.
