Checking it out now. Did they only upload the first episode of The Mandalorian so far? When do they get the latest Marvel movies like Spider-Man: Far From Home?

It will be awhile..Its a Sony film so they can't have it on the site. Read they are trying to work out a deal so it can be on the site.

The idea being it will be easier to retain those customers. Had heard the upcoming Marvel television shows will be handled like that as well.

Managed to get Disney+ working in Germany after a few trys. I think it's excellent. Yes, the content is aimed at kids/teens, and my parents do hope that I will become an adult one day, but until then I am very happy with what I see so far. I'm particularly pleased to see the extra features. I love to watch a good making-of documentary or to check out the deleted scenes. The problem is that I now have 5 different streaming subscriptions. I think Prime Video and the WWE Network are not going to make the cut and I'm going to find "alternative" sources when I need them. I'm sure many people with no lives expected to send all day yesterday watching "The Mandalorian".

I have over 40 years of reading comic books, so I'm totally cool with the spaced-out episodic format. I like the "one a week" streaming concept. Hulu did this for all 3 seasons of "The Handmaid's Tale" and I can honestly say that, if they hadn't done that, I probably would've not gotten into it as much. I think one reason I got SO into "Lost", circa 2004-2009, was because I was strung along. Gives ya' time to think about what happened and what could happen. "Game of Thrones" was the same way. For bpickering--- I'd say the ending of the first episode of "The Mandalorian" was mind-blowing. I marked out.

According to a report from Variety, based on research from Apptopia, the Disney+ mobile app was downloaded a whopping 3.2 million across both Apple and Android devices. The app is currently at the top of the Apple App Store charts in the United States and Canada.

Now Disney is saying that there are no plans for Spiderman Homecoming or Far from home to be on the site.

WWE I think was going to do that, as they have their "live stream" channel within the network, but mostly the shows are uploaded well before they show them on the live channel. I can't imagine that people are happy that they have to spend the next three months watching Mandalorian. I did not subscribe yet, Disney got way too much of my money over the past ten days, so I'm waiting until December. I am going to do the seven day free trial around the Thanksgiving weekend (that's when my Hulu expires) and then sign on for the $12.99 deal including Hulu and ESPN. I would never buy ESPN, but I've had Hulu for a year for 99 cents a month and it's changed the way I watch TV. I'm going to be cutting way back on cable in December as my contract for FiOS runs out over Thanksgiving as well, then go more into streaming. Not cutting the cord completely - there's a lot of basic shit that we watch on Hulu that you need a subscription for and it all comes with a mid level package. I don't care about cost, as long as it doesn't go up, so if I come out of this paying the same price I did for full cable I will be getting more for the same money and that's my goal.srossi wrote:Checking it out now. On Wednesday morning, just over 24 hours after the launch of Disney+, Disney revealed that more than 10 million users had already signed up for the streaming service. This is significantly higher than the estimates for Disney+ ahead of Tuesday's launch, which predicted a signup total in the range of eight million.

I am just the opposite. I intentionally wait to start watching a series (not a season, I mean the entire series) until it is has been cancelled / finalized so that I can binge watch the entire series in a couple of days / weeks. I don't like having to remember or re-watch previous seasons to remind myself of all the various storylines in the series. FX used to piss me when I had to wait so long between seasons of "The Shield". Before each season started, I would have to Netflix (DVD by mail) all of the previous seasons to get back up to speed. I have totally sworn off watching weekly programming on the networks.

Chapter 2 of the The Mandalorian is up. My only complaint is the length of the episodes. The 2nd was only 30 mins.

I'm not to that extent, but I do think I enjoy the nuances of shows much better when I binge multiple seasons as opposed to waiting YEARS between the first show and a show in Season 3. I started Breaking Bad that way before I caught up to real time and it helped a lot. I just binged Ray Donovan and am now caught up when it comes back next week. I've done this with a few others also. I wish I had binged Mr. Robot because I'm totally lost on the last season and can't remember anything.
