The Memphis Zoo is one of the best in the country.
Lawler also has a BBQ joint in a suburb in addition to the Beale Street Restaurant. If you go down there during the day, you should be fine.

In Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame is less than half a mile away from the Ryman.

There's a lot to see on Broadway in downtown Nashville at night in terms of celebrity shops and a couple historic stops.
Nashville also has the Nashville Adventure Center, which is an interactive museum type place for kids.

Eh, I’m not a big fan of ball pits but other than that I say let him get exposed to shit. It strengthens the immunity unlike the snowflakes who get sick over everything because they live in a bubble. We gave him peanut butter when he was a few months old for the same reason. No peanut allergies here. I fight against my parental instincts as much as I can to not be overly protective. He’ll get dirty, he’ll fall down, and ultimately it’ll be good for him. Not that it doesn’t kill me to see him get hurt sometimes, but if he’s 12 and not allowed to walk to school by himself then you have my permission to murder me.
There are people out in this world now that would consider your ideas child abuse, which is sad as fuck. Yeah, gotta let 'em get their hands dirty (literally and figuratively), much better for them physically and mentally in the long haul.

I don’t even know if the craziest millennials would say a little dirt is child abuse, but I get what you’re saying. My son has barely even had the sniffles since he was 1 and has no allergies, no infections, no broken bones to date, and doesn’t even cry when he falls anymore.
